    I find it funny every time a person makes this comment. 'Keep it hardcore' is quite an ironic statement, in that you ACTUALLY mean 'keep it hard', or better put 'don't change or add anything new to the game to make it different from when I played it'.

    I played mcpvp starting shortly after you started, and some of the things that used to be required to enjoy minecraft are not what define 'hardcore'. Hardcore is sticking close to vanilla, but for our instance we will absolutely need to balance some 1.16 features, based on the way our game is played. It is still hardcore, even if there are some new things you might not know, or may not even understand.

    We are not trying to lure anyone back. The simple fact is, if mcpvp still existed the way it did, this server would have progressed along each and every update of minecraft- the same way they used to update all their servers as soon as possible any time there was a big update. You can not seriously tell me that, a server which thrived off of delivering new, exciting experience to players, and which ALWAYS had the latest version of the game, would have wanted to stagnate at an older version of the game.

    The only thing that is gone is, the same players who used to live for the new and exciting things that came with advancement, now sit back and sulk in their stubborn ways. Stuck in the past, unable to understand that the concept you love and adore so much would have done what we are pushing toward years ago. Better care and attention to this server should have been paid for years.

    I would also like to make this clear- I am an old time mcpvp player myself, same as you. Do you recall when McPvP neglected the server, and the issues with the server, so much so that McTeams was able to exist for free, not even having to try to completely steal the playerbase? McPvP was not a perfect platform.

    That being said, I also do not like calling it McPvP main. However, my reasoning is because, there simply isn't a badger or an elite server, so how can there be a main server? This is just quite illogical in my eyes.

    Regardless, thank you for your feedback, I always enjoy seeing what other old timers have to say about how the server went since brawl bought it. I've been staff for 8 months, and after seeing Brawl had ****ed it up big time, I've been trying to show them what the server could be.

    I hope to see you in game sometime, once we work out all the beta bugs, to see what the server has become.

    Yes it is. It is quite literally hardcore survival, plus a few things I have been trying to get removed for 8 months.

    brawlsdead.png I would now like to come out once more to prove my previous point I made before the map even started which was "Raid will die even more in 1.16"
    Eastern standard time - took this screenshot at 11:30am and Raid has a total of
    5 players
    Last map we had about 10-12 people at this time back in 1.7 6 years ago we had roughly 60-80. Regardless if it was the same amount, Raid still hasn't approved with the "new" update.
    7 years I've been here and most of you new staff/players want to argue with someone that knows what will happen because I've seen it all
    Sad to a server I started on go out like this but you guys have no intention on "reviving" this
    Even more of my friends have said they quit because 1.16 is garbage, which... it is. It's too complicated now, too commercial-like which microsoft made it into. for a pvp gamemode like this one, 1.7 was a must and that's why it thrived so much back then, But in general the gamemode itself is somewhat dying too don't get me wrong. I wanted to make this reply to some of you that was optimistic about this and really argued that this would succeed which I knew it wasn't going to so here's your pudding in the screenshot.

    Some of the things that killed even more of the tiny player base we had off :

    - Potion of invisibility
    (to gank high geared players with instant damage potions or to kite)
    - Totem of undying (to hold in left hand so you will be revived right as you "die")
    - Curse of vanishing (to make your armor disappear when your die so the enemy cannot obtain your armor after a legit, fair and honest fight)
    -
    Mending (makes XP repair your tools such as armor automatically when you obtain it)
    - Riptide enchantments on tridents (Self explanatory, Easy kite)
    - Grindstone (Trying to get that sharp 5 sword and got smite 5 instead? no problem! disenchant and re-enchant)
    The things above are non-arguable and it ruins the game mode entirely.

    This reply wasn't intended to start any argument, but if you disagree, kindly level with me and respond with your personal opinions :smile:

    We offered the community an option to remove this. It was either remove XP bottles or remove mending. Poll said keep mending.

    Being looked into at the moment.

    I'm just stating the problem with Raid and why even more people left, not because I want it fixed. Hope was lost 4 years ago for me personally, regardless those things won't fix anything. nothing will gain the past playerbase back.

    Hey Frostbyte. I would like to start by saying that, players like you are the reason that the server has a chance. Your posts, among a few others (you know who you are), show that players still care about this gamemode.

    Anyways, I would like to address your points. I'll do 'em one at a time.

    In my opinion (haven't tried invis yet) we should do something with invis. We should require armor at spawn with invis, making invis a strategy device as you won't know who is fighting you, adding a strategy layer. I'm open to further suggestions to incorporate invis to our server more.

    This is kinda useless in pvp. The only time you'd die, would be in a fair fight where you lost, or an outnumbering. In the fair fight, you'd just get killed again quick before you have time to do what you need to do 99% of the time. In the outnumbering, you are just suffering more. The only time it is good is if you fall in lava, or fall too far. If it is a pvp problem for real, we will look into addressing this, but I don't see it being an issue.

    Yea this is a troll thing lawl. You gotta get curse of undying for one, which isn't easy particularly. I haven't gotten it yet. However we could just make it harder to get. A down side to curse is, YOU can't get your gear if you drop in a team fight that your team ends up winning. I'll look into this, if you want to discuss further my pms are always open

    Basically, my reasoning for this change is as follows. Mending is a vanilla feature, which is part of the decision. Mending is ONLY powerful if the armor does not break. There will be more sets in rotation, most likely, with the cheaper enchanting (4.5x more enchants for the xp you'd used to grind to 1 level 30). There will be more sets being used at once, and the afk process will be similar length (per unit set) but more sets will be being repaired at once. This revitalizes xp farms, and makes raiding them more beneficial, which is good for new players learning to track. Players will either have an inv of sets or gear (good for new trackers), or need to repair a lot, a few at a time (good for experienced trackers).

    This was removed during pvp. I am away currently so I am unsure as to its implementation, but it is essentially a 20 second pvp cooldown in which you can't use it. With all the new mechanics, like cross bows that can be pre-loaded and shot without stopping sprinting, if you manage to kite that long, you deserve the kite IMO.

    Grindstone is no different than literally combining 2 things in a crafting table. The only (small) difference is that you get a small amount of xp for using it. For this reason, I do not think grindstones are insanely powerful. That being said, as always, if they are a serious issue, to the point where having more elements to the game isn't worth the game breaking elements, then this will be addressed.

    Thanks again for your contributions, it is very helpful to have so many people raise flags. You make some good points, and I hope that you can continue to do so, and if there are areas with gamebreaking elements that I am overlooking (after all, I'm only one man), then I will gladly hear you out and consider your ideas. I look forward to seeing more of you.

    Side note- beta has been extremely messy. I know many of you see this as a sign that 'oh brawl staff suck, they just keep releasing crap!'. I promise you that, during this entire beta map, we have been all listening and working on improvements. Community feedback is key, and we have been listening to every concern raised by players. If you are reading this, even if you don't consider yourself a 'known' player (which is all in your head, you're only as known as the contributions you make to the gamemode), I STRONGLY encourage you to reply here, or dm me on discord to discuss the updates.

    We are already in the process of preparing and making huge changes for next map, and I will personally see to it that the official release of the 1.16 update and rebrand will be as flawless and amazing as humanly possible. I am not settling for raid staff being thought of as lazy, or poor planners. We promised 1.16 to be the turning point for our gamemode, and I assure you that I am doing everything in my power, as are my fellow raid staff members, to deliver an amazing server for you to all play on.

    I appreciate you taking the time to address each of my points and I agree with your replies to almost the pin point, I think some things are a little OP for a hardcore survival/pvp server, I also think many of these things need a lot of tweaking as well. The past staff and some currently has been at a standstill and won't even communicate with the community about updates, concerns, or anything, but you have, and with that being said after talking to you for awhile now, you would be a great attribute as a Raid manager where you could just do what needs to be done, I know you would, because you came from the same time period as me, and we understand how things should be, also you listen to the players (me in this case) and you open yourself up to PMs, ideas, suggestions, and imagination. That's how a staff should act, not like a robot, like a human being. I would also like to mention @Industrious, he is also a really staff, (which I believe he just got promoted to Mod so congratulations). I like to see the growth of you two, If it continues I see a good change for once so thanks for staffing, If I had more time on my hands I would surely dedicate my free time to being a staff but unfortunately that's why I had to resign from elitekits because I couldn't find the time. But back on topic good job guys, I definitely do want to see this succeed with many more players again, bring my optimism back, I lost it many years ago lol

    We know, KB is reduced in 1.16 because of the different combat.

    We are working to fix it and make it better

    The server is running on 1.16 but the PvP is simulated to be like the 1.8 combat.
