What is your in-game name? - It is darkhellmet
*edit* changed to greenhellmet for xmas season as of 11/30/2020
Is your Minecraft account secured and migrated? - Yes it is safe and secure. No one's getting in

How old are you? - 19 years. 14/03/2001
What time zone are you in? - PST
Are you multilingual? Can you speak multiple languages? - No unfortunately I do not. Although if anyone has a question and is speaking in another language, I typically use google translate and it normally works out fine.

What is your experience and knowledge of Brawl? - I joined back in 2015. I would mostly play creative plots, but I also enjoyed playing War and Party. At the time I was new to using world edit, and was browsing Planet Minecraft when I saw this server. I saw that it allows players to use it freely on the creative server at WE1 I joined instantly because I knew I would be able to better my skills with building. I started grinding my way through AdvBuilder to We2, You can even see my old applications in the archives. I'll admit my plan was to get to Wepro and work my way up and become a part of this servers build team. I now find this funny because I really thought my builds were to standard. Later on, I lost interest because I became involved as an admin on another server known as The Agora (more on that later). At the time I wasn't really happy about the switch between plots to build, so I kind of lost interest. I left the server for a good bit to work for the other server. Last year around August I think, I decided to come back and give build a chance. I realized that Brawl has one of the best creative servers I have ever seen. I attempted solo building maps for ctf one I quit working on because I was dumb and made it on the 1.13 server. The other one I lost interest on because I was uneducated on ctf and the types of maps it needs. Last week I hosted an adventure event on a map I recently completed which was a decent success. I'm hoping to do more in the future. As of now I am currently working on a free build country style map with roads and landscaping.

What is your experience with moderating servers, if any? -
I have plenty of experiences in terms of moderating servers. In total I have been staff on 5 servers, build team on another and Owner of my own. I do have a couple of people I can contact in terms of references, but if it's all fine, I would prefer not to as I haven't talked to them in years. As for each of the servers I've been staff on, I've listed them each in order according to date below

Helper on some pvp server I can't remember - My first server was a small survival/kitpvp server, and by small I mean really small, our record was 10 players at a time. Anyways, I was made Helper by the owner. My responsibilities were to watch players, report them, and control chat. I would issue out mutes based of of the rules and/or the severity of the problem. If a problem turned out to be so severe I would report it to a higher up. We also had a trial website that lasted like a week. Here I would monitor forums, report people and answer questions.

Head Admin on dragonsserver - I started as trial-mod but got rapidly promoted (without asking or applying) to head-admin. Now bear in mind, I was only 13 at the time and, this was only the second server I've been staff on. I didn't know what I was doing or why I was the head-admin but who knows. Anyways, my duties were to Monitor all the mods, admins and players. I also helped install plugins in filezilla, and "play" in the console. Did I do any of this? I tried to but again, I was only 13 at the time with no prior experience. Anyways the server died after about a year. I left on not so good terms, the owner refused to talk to me and blocked me on everything. Not to point fingers but looking back, he didn't contribute much to the server anyways.

Mod on MiniGz - A year later, I was 14 at the time and I was a server mod and builder for about 6 months. It was a plot-creative/survival/minigame server. My job was to patrol the three servers looking for rule breakers and issue mutes, bans, and kicks basically all the goodies based on the severity. In cases where I dealt with griefers, we used a plugin I think was called coreprotect, (you probably heard of it) basically it would tell me who broke what, who placed what etc. I would do a rollback, warn the griefer, or if they've had warnings I would seek further punishment. It all ended when the Owner couldn't afford the server and closed it to start a new private one.

Builder on baconcraft - It was a temporary name, but that doesn't matter. It was the same staff team as MiniGz, this was the private server that the Owner opened up. Basically the plan was to build up a new server privately until everything was ready to be released. I lead the build team on the spawn hub project but we never finished it. Unfortunately the server died after a week when everyone just completely lost interest. Looking back I wish it lasted a little longer but there was nothing I could do at the time.

Head Admin on The Agora - after the previous server died, I started seeking for a better and more committed community to be apart of. This led me to what I would consider my favorite server I was staff on and the one I spent the most time on at the time. It was The Agora. It was smaller than Brawl (these days) Frequently we got 25 people on at a time with 50 being our peak. I was staff on this server for 4 years. I started off as Mod. Same kind of responsibilities as the other server. Look out for cheaters, ban, kick, mute, you get the idea. I worked hard enough and put enough time in that I was made Admin. I would modify the website, add forums, delete them, recruit new team members, play with plugins, etc. It was about a year down the line where I was made Head-Admin. It was pretty much the same as Admin but with a bit more authority and the ability to manage other Admins. In our server the build team consisted of the owners and other admins (pretty much anyone with access to the staff world) since they all were huge into building as well. This has been by far my best experience as a staff member on any server and I've truly learned a lot from this experience. It shut down eventually when the Owners got busy with University and couldn't keep the server running. I felt pretty close to all the staff members on that server making it really depressing when it shut down. To this day I still miss that server. (that was 3 years ago. :\)

Co-Owner on The Cretum - One of the owners from The Agora attempted to build back the old server on a new one he called The Cretum. I helped him for a little while. I was Co-Owner but unfortunately we couldn't get it back to what it was so we both lost interest and closed it down.

Owner on an unnamed server -
I tried to do what the other owner did and revive our old server but I had no staff team because everyone I knew and trusted opted out due to the fact that they believed Minecraft popularity was slowly declining at the time and it was becoming increasingly hard to start a new server and be successful. I didn't want to open the doors to the new server because it was far from ready, This lead me to shutting it down.

    And now we're here

Why do you want to become a moderator on Brawl? -

As of now the build server lacks a staff team IMO. Not saying the current staff on there aren't bad or anything but mainly because I want to help out and I feel like I could be a good asset to build. I love helping other players, whether it's help with world edit, reports or other questions, it's something I've always enjoyed about moderating servers. I also believe there is more potential here than people realize, especially now with the recent events of rearranging the staff team. If I had one end goal, It would be get this server get back to what it was, not just build but brawl as a whole. It may be an impossible task but Brawls been given it's best chance recently, and I'd like to help out. I know that myself cannot do this alone, but I do have a few ideas that could help improve our numbers. For starters, my first goal would be to make the server more active in terms of being more involved within the community such as hosting more events and things. I would gladly get behind working on that. Additionally, a few weeks ago I briefly touched on a couple ideas for improving Brawl, although I believe lots of what I discussed is already in effect and irrelevant at this point. I'll share that thread here https://www.brawl.com/threads/76969/. I have a couple of other ideas I can share so I put some spoilers below if you want to see them.
Ok, let's talk about build. It's a really good game mode for creative mode and casual players (imo). I do find that we can do a lot more though. Build throughout the day gets max 10 players at a time but it is pretty silent, nothing happens, and players just go on their way building their things. For the average player I'd say that it probably gets pretty stale. That's why I feel that build could really benefit from a little bit of spice. I think we should bring back in game build events like we've done far in the past such as build competitions. These would last the entire month (or whatever time frame we want) and winner would win a prize like elite or something and be featured in the brawl news. Build also produces a lot of casual ctf maps from the community, for players to play on, so why not have "build competitions" by category depending on what the staff team is looking for, doesn't have to be ctf maps, that was just a suggestion. Like christmas spawns, party maps, ctf maps, etc. IMO this can help "freshen" up the game throughout all the servers as we'll have more maps to play on. I think Build and Brawl as a whole will benefit from something remotely on these lines, and it might even interest more people in playing.

I'd really like to get a map feedback system put in place. This will allow players to join your world (if set to public) and leave while you are offline and leave some feedback and suggestions. To add on to this, I believe we should add a board to the build lobby where players may advertise their maps for feedback. I find getting feedback on your map not only makes you a better builder, but it also allows other players to point out some things that they have missed. In the end I think it will encourage you to build more.

Another plan I have is to make /playmode a well known feature of build. In my opinion playmodes have so much potential, making players able to create their own mini games, and adventure maps. Although they have so much potential, I believe the vast majority of players haven't heard of them or haven't tried them making it unused. I would like to see a guide thread pinned to the build guide forum (I'd be willing to write it). In addition, more advertisement of the feature from the media team would help as well. I believe playmodes have the potential to bring more interest to build and brawl as a whole, that is why I would like to make it more noticeable.

I do have some more smaller build based ideas, They aren't as thought out as much and in early development, but if you'd like to know feel free to PM me.

I think party is due for a rework. Like I said in my above thread, adding additional games and maps could be beneficial to the party succeeding. To add on to this idea, I'd like to see a map and game voting feature that allows players to vote for which game and map they'd like to play next. To make it so players don't vote for the same thing over and over again, I think if we also integrate a randomizing system that pulls 2 games at random and players can vote on those. Additionally to the 2 games, there should be an"other" or "random" option that if voted for will choose any random minigame out of all of them (similar to CODs system). This will improve the functionality of party, as well as allow the staff team to learn what players like and don't like.

In addition to my ideas for the server, I do comfortably believe with my experiences being staff, that I am capable of handling the role of jmod. I know the ropes in player management and I always keep an open mind. With the recent changes to the servers leadership I believe we are pushing the server down the right track and I'll be happy to join you.

Have you ever used a hacked client before?
    - No I can confidently say that I have never used a hacked client, or ever considered using one. This saying I unfortunately have to say that I do not have much experience with identifying dealing with hackers myself and lack the skill and knowledge in that category. Although I do know about most of the common hacks that I've put in a list below. I understand that knowledge around hacked clients is of importance on this server, especially when you are moderating on the more competitive servers where there are an abundance of cheaters. That saying, I'm always open to learn and I can always observe the more skilled staff members and ask questions.
Kill-Aura - Allows you to set an attack range and click speed which allows you to damage players around you

Ninja - Teleports you behind a player that hits you

Criticals - Makes your character jump ever so slightly each hit to trigger critical hits

Click Aimbot - Auto aims to the nearest player

Bow Aimbot - Aims the bow for you

X-Ray - Allows you to hide blocks i.e stone, to find useful materials a lot easier

Anti Knockback - Makes it so you cannot be knocked back

No Fall Damage - Makes it so you don't take fall damage

No-clip - Allows you to pass through blocks on a horizontal axis

V-clip Allows you to pass through blocks on a vertical axis

Phase - Allows the player to move through transparent blocks like glass, glow stone, etc.

Dolphin effect- Allows you to swim quickly

Speed - Allows the character to move quickly

Jesus - Allows you to walk on water

Fly - Allows you to fly without perms

Like I said, I know of these ones but I lack the ability to identify them quickly. I do know of more, this is just a list of most of them I know of. If you want more, feel free to pm me

Have you ever been punished (banned, kicked, muted, etc) legitimately on a public Minecraft server? If so, why? I think it's safe to say that we've all been punished in some way on a public Minecraft server. In my case, I've been banned for advertisement on another server. It was back in 2013ish I was 12 years old and was just made helper on a server I was playing. This gave me the idea to help grow the server and advertise it on random servers. I was auto muted on at least 3 of them and I was banned instantly on one. I honestly think a ban was a little extreme for something like that especially with no warning. I think when ever you are going to punish someone, make sure you read your own rules and follow them. Other than that, I cannot remember being legitimately punished on any other server.
Additionally I have never been punished or warned on any brawls servers as well.

What do you consider your greatest strength? - In terms of my personality, I'm a pretty chill and relaxed person and I never try and put myself before others. To me, this means I'm pretty open to everyone and different ideas. It also takes a lot to anger or frustrate me due to the fact I've worked in customer service irl for 5 years now. Over the course of that time I've been able to control my frustration as well as picking up on a few people and team managing skills.

I find myself to be a pretty passionate person meaning I'll commit to completing tasks If I'm passionate about it. I typically like to look towards the "big picture" when I'm working on projects. This gives me a good idea of how I want something to turn out which I will use as a guide or inspiration (if that makes sense). It will also sometimes cause me to overlook parts of a project (so i guess it can be a weakness) but I'm usually on top of it.

I have a pretty good sense of perception. At least that's what I've been told by more than a couple people. I'm often able to tell when something wrong is in the air or detect when someone is acting odd. In general I'm just a pretty aware person when it comes to the things around me

What do you consider your greatest weakness?
I am a professional procrastinator irl. If procrastination was an occupation, I'd be a millionaire. In all seriousness though I am really bad at procrastinating when it's regarding something I'm not as interested in or have no passion for. Lately though, I have been getting a lot better at completing projects on time. Within the game itself, I rarely find myself getting burnt out, unless myself or someone gives me a tedious task.

Through my years of being staff I was either too young to realize or I never really got the opportunity to deal with hackers. On the Agora, our community was honestly, pretty good. We had a lot of honest players nothing really serious. We did have an occasional xrayer but I wasn't in charge of those things at that time.

Another weakness is the fact that I have really bad anxiety when it comes to talking to new people (especially if I've never met you.) It usually takes a series of multiple encounters for me to get used to people, but the more I play/talk to you the more confident I can be. Heads up, I WILL be nervous in discord for the first time.

Which Brawl server(s) are you most active on? - I spend most my time free building on the build servers. I enjoy making maps and teaching people the ropes of world edit when they ask. I can say that I have become familiar with most of builds features and commands, I'm sure that there are still more things that I can learn though.
I also occasionally play ctf and party. I'm also super excited for skyblock and planning on playing tons of it as soon as it comes out.

How many Brawl staff applications have you made in the past? - Just 1

What is the date of the last application you submitted? - I made it on Oct 22 2020 and it was denied on Nov 12 2020. That puts me on the 26th of November for reapply.

Do you have Discord? - Yes I do. it is darkhellmet#8090

I am mostly active on the forums. I will occasionally make a post there while also reading up on peoples threads. I believe discord is my most inactive second platform in terms of communication. That saying, I do keep discord open constantly on my other monitors, and I usually read peoples conversations, I just don't really participate in them unless someone @s me. This could be put under the weakness section.

Anything else you would like to state? I work 5 days a week typically Sunday-Thursday (10-6pm) but sometimes my schedule can get a little random. None the less, I can still put in ~2-5+ hours a day on the days I work. On the days I have off I'm able to "no-life" on the server for ~9-12 hours depending on how I'm feeling and what plans I have.

Please insert a Yes / No poll below.

I don't know if it's the font you used or the coloring, but some responses are not readable. Might just be me. 2020.11.27-01.06.png

"In terms of my personality, I'm a pretty chill and relaxed person and I never try and put myself before others. To me, this means I'm pretty open to everyone and different ideas." Shows common sense. You have everything needed in working together as a team and the mindset of a staff.
    Easy +1.
