Brawl Junior Moderator Application​

How old are you? - 21.

What time zone are you in? - UTC+1

Are you multilingual? Can you speak multiple languages? - I speak both English and German fluently.

What is your experience and knowledge of Brawl? - I think I started playing CTF somewhere in its very beginning in 2011 on McPvP back then, and have been a part of Brawls community ever since they bought CTF from McPvP. In all that time I have actively played and followed the gamemode. I partook in several events, tournaments, competitions, matches and PPMs during those years.

What is your experience with moderating servers, if any? - I used to be Moderator, Admin, Co-Owner of a smaller server but I do not feel like that is noteworthy.

Why do you want to become a moderator on Brawl? - To be honest, I am not 100% convinced of myself. Recently a lot of people have told, encouraged and tried convincing me to apply. The reason why I, myself, am so unsure about it is because I have really high standards that I would want to be able to fulfill. It is not that I feel like I would not make for a good moderator, but rather that I feel like I would not be able to live up to my own expectations, which is important to me. Some people, including staff members who relate to my concerns, told me to just give it a try, so this is what I am doing. I have complained about inactive or not good enough staff members myself before so I would resign if I felt I was becoming like that as well, as I would not want to be a hypocrite. While the above does not entirely speak for me or my motivation to become a moderator, it is important to me for people to know and consider it in making a decision.
The reconstruction seems to have a lot of potential that I would like to contribute to in order to further improve Brawl. I have complained about how staff has handled stuff in the past and with the reconstruction going on I feel like I could help with that, as well as prevent those issues from happening again. Some of those issues being transparency and the handling of cheaters for example. Furthermore, I believe my experience and knowledge of the game could be beneficial to the CTF council, especially seeing how there is a lack of defensive players on there.

Have you ever used a hacked client before? - I have. Not on a server though. Installed Nodus like 6 years ago once to experiment with it, turned on forcefield, killed 5 sheep at once. Had a blast. But jokes aside, I would never cheat, nor have I ever, outside of singleplayer.

Have you ever been punished (banned, kicked, muted, etc) legitimately on a public Minecraft server? If so, why? - No.

What do you consider your greatest strength?

• I believe I am decently good at pvp and well versed with the mechanics, to a point where I can typically differentiate between a hacker and a good player.
• I am blunt, straightforward and honest and will call people out if need be. I do not mind confrontation in order to resolve issues, push for change, or hold people accountable.
• As mentioned above, I have been playing this game for quite some time now and still actively do so and the experience and knowledge I have gained throughout that time can definitely benefit future decision making done by the council.
• I try to be as unbiased as possible in my opinions which I think is an essential part of being staff.
• I consider myself to be level-headed and easy to talk to, even though I tend to be reserved.

What do you consider your greatest weakness?

• I have been hesitant to apply for a long time now. One of my reasons were the aforementioned motivational issues. While they mostly affect me in real life, they should still be brought up here.
  Being a perfectionist with huge expectations of myself that I would want to fulfill to both my and other people's liking in addition to having a great sense of wanting to do right by others acts as both a counter and an incentive to tackle that issue. I would want to do a good job, excel at it and help people.
• Another weakness is my low forum activity and participation in public discussions.
  The reason for that is that it has always felt kind of useless to me as it seemed to never go anywhere. Instead, I preferred to message staff members directly as that guaranteed instant feedback and a person responsible.

While I don't necessarily understand how you came to that conclusion I can assure you I am confident in being able to handle them accordingly.
