Using Spectator Mode to find loot

    Hey guys-

    I know it's been a while, and I'm glad to be back. I think I found an issue that may need to be addressed.

    I had a great pair legit raids/loot pickups from today's event. Even though I was killed mere seconds into the event, I was in spectator mode and followed most of the event afterwards. I realized that I could left-click on active players and spectate from their POV, and if they left spawn I was able to spectate with them. I picked Vendor to spectate, and saw from his POV as he went to spawn and opened several shulkers only 100 blocks from spawn. While I had no idea what was in them, I was able to capture the coordinates (and I even posted them in chat) and continued spectating him as the event wore on.

    Luckily for me, he was the last person to be killed. When that happened, everyone popped back out of spectator mode, and I landed directly into his corpse, picking up an ungodly amount of enchant and gapps. I ended up with most of a netherite set, 37 gaps, and 4 dia god sets. I was able to keep them and eventually sell them.

    But the best part is when I went to the shulker coordinates about an hour later (the map was still playable for a bit). I discovered the three shulkers were chock full of OP dia sets; I immediately mined them and put as much as I could into the shop. I got probably 15 sets of dia god sets; unfortunately they were slightly damaged (and maybe duped...?).

    At any rate, if there are future events where players are eliminated but can be in spectator mode, this would be a huge loophole to find bases and get loot.

    Thanks for reporting, and yeah the loot you found was duped, and the players are punished for it.

    How were they punished if I may ask. A warn, 3day ban, perm ban?

    Its the END of the MAP event. Who cares about the loot in spawn or what you took afterwards, its useless.

    Carno took 3 shulkers out of my inventory and told me to stop using them because they were illegal. The shulkers you found were PLACED, which rsugar did after carno told everyone not to use them in their INVENTORY. They were acting as a single chest, because i didnt pick them up. Had rsugar taken 3 chests and put the loot in there, it would have had the same effect.

    Also, Im not sure how im punished for this, but i havent participated in any dupe glitches and had no idea the armor was even duped. I was given the shulkers with the sets, how they came into existence was none of my business nor did i care. I logged on one day to see everything in my personal vault re arranged and duped once or twice. Every item. Should i get punished for that?


    For the most notorious xrayer on the server, you seem to really care about "cheating"

    Not really feeling you being 'punished' here. I discovered a couple people duping with a very easily abused dupe glitch early on in the map. I reported it, the case I knew of, along with reported cases that may have been dupe. These cases were never looked into.

    You should not be banned now for something that wasn't investigated when it happened. Obviously, you could have had no idea that the loot was duped in the first place. When issues go so long without being touched, it is difficult to be able to definitively say that a player knew about, and is knowingly reaping the benefits of, players who duped.

    Good report Graff, but also free vendor.
