I have noticed that a couple of the mods are virtually never on the TeamSpeak server. I know that some have computers in central areas of the house or don't have a microphone, but these are not valid excuses. You don't have to talk to join the TeamSpeak. In fact there are many players/mods who don't talk and just communicate via chat.

The reason I am asking this is because I was under the impression TeamSpeak activity was a requirement for staff.

Question: Why are there a relatively high percentage of the moderators never on the TeamSpeak?

(I don't mean this post in a accusatory manner at all, I am simply curious.)

    Very good question Hudstorm.
TS3 is an initial requirement for moderators when they apply for the position. Every month, there is a 'Mod Grading' released. All activity on the TS3 server is logged, and then in the monthly Mod Grading, the TS3 activity of that particular user is logged, and posted against that user. The system then works of a series of 'Reds'. If one of the requirements is inadequate, then it will be highlighted red.
If a member of staff gets so many reds, then they will either be warned / demoted. Therefore, if a member of staff is active on the forums / servers etc. but is only not active on the TS, then they will only have 1 red, and therefore will not be demoted.
However, despite that, TS3 activity is a big contributor towards promotion, so, it is also unlikely you will see in-active moderators on TS3, promoted.
For why they are inactive, I cannot answer that, I guess that is a personal question in which the individuals would have to be asked, I cannot tell you the actual reason for why they do not use it.
I hope this answered your question, I am sure Putty or Chris will add any additional information if I have missed anything.
