    This thread supports @Credo007lv thread about the subject.

    Since not a while ago, the creative server got some unique staff ranks so I though why not for the forums ?

    Forum helpers are normal members who receive this rank to help the staff on the forums and do their job.

    Their powers

    • Able to lock threads in all sections beside off-topic
    • They will have their own staff chat that can be checked by the admins/mods or they can share the normal staff chat to make things easier
    • They will have their own little banner saying: forum helper
    • They will have a little F logo on the ts but will have no power over the ts.
    • They're allowed to tag administrators in extreme need.
    • They have the same authority as the mods on the forums.
    • They are not able to edit any post
    • Forum helpers can't be a moderator ( besides it's better ) at the same time.
    • They're allowed to move threads in the appropriate section they think it should be but any staff members can correct them if needed.
    How many will there be ?

    There will 5 forum helpers ( there shouldn't be too much to avoid any problem and therefore to try and cover all the timezones if possible ).

    How to become a forum helper

    I propose several ways to become a forum helper:

    note: I do not think making an application wouldn't be a good idea due to not needing in-game activity not ts activity.

    1. Handpicked

    The administrators choose who the forum helpers should be appointed.

    2. Voted

    I also suggest that they can be appointed by the forum members themselves. A voting thread should be setup to vote who the community in the forums think they can be.
    First of all the " candidates " will need to sign up on a separate thread, please do keep in mind that this rank is serious and is a responsibility.
    Then they would need to make either a little speech explaining why would they want to become a forum helper or they would have to fill in a set of questions. In both ways they must send through the speech/results through a conversation to the administrators so it can be copy pasted on the voting thread so people can make a opinion on the person in question.
    The thread will be locked and the only thing accessible would be to vote in the poll.

    Note: if there is less than 5 candidates doesn't mean they will be accepted. The administrators have also their word into it. Even if the candidates have been chosen the admins can also say if they accept or not the candidate to be accepted

    The minimum requirements for becoming a forum helper:

    Not everyone can get forum helper easly, before they can apply they must fit these requirements:

    Posts: 1000
    Positive ratings: 300
    Followers: 10
    Regularly active on the forums ( being on at least every 1 to 2 days ).
    Being part of the forums for at least 1 to 2 months.

    Note: the requirements can be changed if needed

    Changing forum helpers after a certain amount of time ?

    I'm not sure about this, please comment about this.

    Conclusion:

    I know probably some of you think that this rank is useless or pointless but I think it can help some players to train to become mod or being more mature. This can also attract more people to stay on the forums. It will also ( hopefully ) stop new members from applying for mod and just quitting right after because they were denied.
    As always please give constructive criticism, idea that can be improved or support this thread.

    I'm not sure still. They seem too similar to mods. However, you did seem to balance it a bit by saying only 5 forum helpers. I'll keep my decision as a +0.

    I'm not sure about this. Those forum helpers would have as much power as Global Mods on forums, a lot more than normal mods. I actually think we are doing fine with the system, that server moderators moderate their forums section.

    Honestly, I do not see much need of this. Normal moderators do already take care of their certain section. The system is quite fair as it is. I'm not exactly sure how it would keep people on the forums. If they had the same authority as a moderator, it is just another moderator without the in game rank.

    I'm not sure this is needed, really. Essentially, to be a Moderator, you must be active on the respective server you want. That would also require a solid activity on the forums of that server. In a sense, if you're a Party Moderator, you're a Party Forums Moderator. This just seems unnecessary to me.

    So my question is why do we need it? It's not like these forums are overflowing with posts, if it was then okay, I could see it maybe being implemented, but it just seems like a way for forums users to act like they have more power.
    No, seems to similar to mods and really doesn't need to be implemented.

    I've got the forum under control, most of the stuff I do, is behind closed doors, and most of the time, you will not see what I am doing.
    My 'Forum Helpers' are the server moderators, they do a good enough job. Most of the time :V

    As mentioned by Peas, he gets most of the job done by himself. The rest of the job is done by chickenputty, the server moderators, and I. Server moderators moderate the forum they are moderator in, so all of the forums are thoroughly moderated, making a "forum helper" rank futile. Thanks for the suggestion.

    I don't think this is necessary. The mods get the job done most of time. Also, 300 positive ratings are just an opinion not a fact. Number of posts is good, but positive ratings don't seem necessary.

    Awesome job, I really like this idea. As some of you know, mods can delay and what not. So, we could use more active people on forums, couldn't we?

    Those people could delay as well. All people delay and whatnot. Much of the time, the moderator will catch whatever. Having multiple moderators for a section allows this to be taken care of. If one moderator does not see something, another will. Looking after each other. It comes to our attention sooner or later. There is no rush for anything, unless it is something of extreme seriousness.

    I really like this idea, and timezones can be a problem, so not adding more mods (We already have so many), but adding forum mods is a great idea in my opinion.
    Btw are they able to post on staff applications?
