Ban ratings but allow comments

The reason why they're not allowed is because the advice that people gives scares people away. Mods are more trustworthy and therefore only we are allowed to reply.

That is how he works. Just ignore it and move on. If you two want to flame then do it in a PM.

 

If there is anything that you would like to point out to the staff, PM them what you have to say (it should not be the obvious like length, grammar, etc.). Aside from that, the words you say in a mod app can mean a lot more then the rating you give.

You do have a habit of making the same thread as other people. Yesterday I made a thread about things you should think about before applying for mod. You then rushed off to make your own worse one. You have done the same wit this thread and others.

 

Of what, the guides? I made my thread around 30-60 min before you made yours. You rushed off to make your own one, disliking mine in the process.

 

But your the first person to shout out to the fourms about F3YZ.

You apparently changed the forums, but keep dreaming bud.

 

If comments were re-enabled, people would flame at a new member because they made an app. This would mostly cause them to leave as they wouldn't be able to stand the onslaught of hate comments.

P.S. Ratings are already disabled in the Staff Apps section.

 

I like it to where only staff can comment on mod applications because you actually get constructive criticism from people who have actually achieved the rank by meeting all the requirements and writing a good enough application to get themselves accepted.

 

Let me just state that this originally came from my idea of permanently removing the staff applications. Though it was not fully achieved, it was somewhat accepted by Putty and the only reason he did this is to prevent us forum members from bringing upsetting comments upon new member applications. The greatest example of this is SNN which I highly doubt a new member even knows about. Moderators being able to comment should be able to bring down the criticism of us forum members and it is somewhat effective to this day.

 

Moderators are most trustworthy and will give the appropriate reason why they gave this rating. On the other hand there is a lot of members who just put the simple: new member -1, GTFO new member -1 or too young -1.
And that is why members are not allowed to post on apps anymore

 

This is the main problem with letting members comment on an application.

What is SNN even supposed to mean? (I know what it means, but many might not) That's what applicants may ask, and some members too. That's because we haven't said SNN for a while. It isn't constructive criticism.

That's a pointless post, we already get that. You're only doing that to get your post count up.

Another reason why many quit. They're bullied out of the community.

We don't want a community that bullies other members out, we want one that is welcoming. Staff give better constructive criticism, honestly. It's a controversial issue, but the system works well as it is at the moment.
