Are you active and helpful on our servers, forums, and Teamspeak? - I try to be as active as possible on all three. Currently, I have accumulated 303 posts on the forums. I try to be as helpful as possible on the forums, and sometimes I throw in a little humor here and there. Over the past few weeks, I have grown somewhat addicted to the forums. I would be able to monitor the forums, searching for rule breakers and help other members of the community out. I try to log onto the servers for at least 1-4 hours a day. When online, I like to talk to the community, and help players in any way I can. I find myself helping players more often than playing the actual games. I try to log onto TS3 at least once or twice a day. I like to talk with other players, whether about the servers or any other Minecraft topic. We normally have a good time.

Which server are you applying for? - I am applying for McWarZ.

How old are you? - I am only 15 years old. However, I feel as if this shouldn’t be a variable to determine my maturity. I am mature for my age, and feel I would be able to handle myself if I were chosen for this position.

What time zone are you in? - My timezone is Eastern Standard Time (EST).

What is your experience and knowledge of Minecraft? - I’ve owned this minecraft account since minecraft indev version. The indev version basically meant that minecraft was still in development at the time. So, during this time all minecraft accounts were actually free so I managed to get this account. However, I stopped playing minecraft at the time because I wanted to wait for the development of the game to continue for a while longer. So, I returned to the minecraft community at beta 1.2 where I actually began to legitimately play single player and servers. Essentially, I’ve watched minecraft develop from something so little to what’s now known as one of the most popular indie game. Probably the best part of playing minecraft is watching everything develop from the game itself to other things such as servers.

What is your experience with moderating servers? - In my personal experience, I’ve been moderator on 3 servers, but I feel that they were good enough experience for me because they were all popular servers. I currently own a network (GizmoServers), I’ve been moderator on @Signatured old minecraft server Imprisonedcraft and I’ve also been moderator on mc-core. I feel as if the experience of being staff on all 3 of those servers is more than enough to testify that I’d be perfect for this position as a staff member. What will you provide to the community if you are provided moderator status? - If I am provided Moderator status, I would try to help McWarZ be the best it can possibly be. At times, there are many spammers/advertisers (or rule breakers in general) online, and I have no power over them. If I was promoted to Moderator, I would be able to put a stop to their acts, and help the McWarZ community because a safer, more playable environment. I also have a keen eye for hackers, so I can easily spot sprint hackers, fly hackers (for games like Wool Mix Up, Spleef, ect), and any other hacks that I come across. I feel that hacking gives you a significant advantage over others, and that is simply not right. I want to be able to help players have a good time playing their favorite server, not being beat by a hacker.

Have you ever been banned on a Minecraft server? If so, why. - I have never been banned for any legitimate reason on a Minecraft server. I have never tried to intentionally get myself banned (such as hacking, advertising, ect). There have been accounts where I have been banned for false reasons, and I also get the occasional ban for “Hacked name.” I would never do anything to get banned.

How active do you consider yourself in-game? - I try to log on everyday for at least 1-2 hours. I love to interact with the other players, and I enjoy playing the mini games. Whenever I get home, I’m sure I dedicate most of my playing time to McWarZ, or McBrawl in general. Many times I find myself playing for hours upon hours, simply because I love the servers, the community, and the concept. I try to keep people from spamming and insulting others while online, and sometimes I succeed. This makes me feel great about myself, because I actually feel as if I helped someone.

How active do you consider yourself on TS3? - As I said, I enjoy interacting with other members of the community, especially on TS3. Whether I’m talking to my friends, staff members, or just random users that I meet, I enjoy communicating with them. I am normally on TS3 whenever I am on McBrawl, so I would say I am on for a good few hours of the day. I try to help people whenever I am online, such as showing them how to speak when they are on push to talk, ect. I am always open to any questions that anyone has.

How active do you consider yourself on the forums? - I do consider myself very active on the forums during these last few months. I always have them opened in a separate tab and always looking at new threads. I’ve also managed to accumulate over 200 posts in over the last month just putting me at around 303 posts with over 150 positive ratings. I get on whenever I can, making sure I leave a helpful post on the threads I find interesting.

What do you consider your greatest strength? - My greatest strength would have to be dealing with a situation that exceeds my experience. Often, I will come across a situation that I have never had to deal with before. When this time comes, I am normally quick on my feet, making the most rational decision I can think of. This normally helps me in many situations, especially when a situation needs to be dealt with immediately.

What do you consider your greatest weakness? - My greatest weakness is that I’m too lenient on a few things. In the past, I’ve usually given people a very weak consequence for something that deserved more. I’ve been trying to work on this for a while and I do think I can control it. However, I still do believe that this is considered my greatest weakness.

How would you handle someone making a minor transgression for the first time? - I would message that player on what they are doing wrong and give them a warning about it and let them know the next time it happens they will be kicked.

How would you handle the same person doing it again a second time? - As said above, if that player is found doing that again I will proceed by kicking them from the server.

How would you handle that person doing it again for the third time? - If they log back on and continue to be a problem, I will them temporarily ban that player from the server for an hour.

What is your reaction if someone publicly proves you wrong on the forums? - I would act mature about the situation and thank whoever corrected me on the mistake I made and I would correct myself.
What would you do when someone breaks a rule on the forums? - If I see someone breaking a rule on the forums I would give him/her a warning point that corresponds to whatever rule he had broke. I will then notify that person on what I’ve just done and tell them how they can prevent something like that from happening again in the future. Finally, I’ll tell him/her to edit whatever they had posted that got them the warning. If not, I will forcefully edit it myself.

Anything else we should know about you? - My real name is Paul. I am currently an honors student in my school and almost have straight A’s. I love to program in my freetime, and I play basketball, football, and golf as my extra curricular activities.

Situation: A player is out of the map on MC-WAR. What are the steps that you would take to ensure that this player and situation is properly dealt with? - I would first begin this process by figuring out whether or not the player glitched out of the map using a hacked client, or if there is some kind of flaw in the map in which he/she abused. From there, I would then kindly ask the player in public chat to return inside the map’s boundaries. If the player refuses to come back inside the map, I would privately message that player that this is their last warning to come back in the map. If they still refuse then I would have no choice but to kick the player from the server. If they log back on and continue to do what they were doing before I would temporarily ban that player from the server.

Do you generally know how all the plugins and commands work? - Yes, being a server owner for such a long time and been developing bukkit plugins for a long time as well, I generally know the feel of everything and I feel as if I’d be able to handle it.

Do you realize that if you are disrespectful or abuse your power, your power will be taken away? -
Yes, I’m fully aware that if I abuse my power in any way my moderator powers will be revoked from me.
