Advertising Question

    Question: Alright, Colonel_Chris has stated that their is a new hacked client for minecraft that can generate messages in chat from other people. Here is where he states this:

    An example is if someone made a DDoS threat, but the person did not actually type, the hacker did. Because of this issue, DDoS threats are no longer accepted (my guess is that they can still be considered if you screenshot it, and get proof of you going offline). Now, advertising server IPs is also shown in chat. Can not this chat hack generate people to falsely put server IPs into chat now? I was wondering if advertising is considered for reporting rule breakers. A legitimate advertising, from what I know, would be a new player to the server (in the case of MC-War, a Private) advertising the IP.

    I guess the advertiser could make an appeal on the forums to state how he/she was not that one who typed the IP.
    This has really puzzled me, and I thought I would ask the staff as to what they think.

    Generally, generated evidence is used to put down other players, specifically those who play WarZ. In other words, the fake, generated evidence is (normally) directed towards WarZ MVPs. Advertising, on the other hand, is usually done by low level/unranked players.

    With that information, the validity of chat evidence is easily distinguishable; we can tell something is fishy if a donator/upper ranked player is caught "advertising."
