    Question: Why do agree ratings count as positive ratings but disagree ratings don't count as negative ratings?

    Because, generally, a disagree doesn't mean that the idea is bad, for example, so why should it count as a negative rating.
    As for agree ratings, everyone loves a positive rating don't they?
