Idea Cactus maze

    Everyone can play. You have Togo through the cactus maze and find the exit. The first three people to get to the exit wins. There's only 30 redstone torches to help you see in the maze. If you get hurt by the cactuses you can find dead ends with chests with 1 or 2 food or mushroom soup so you don't die. The only catch is there is only 10 chests and when you die from the cactuses you just spectate the arena and fly around

    In my opinion, a game with a maze in MinecraftParty would never work.

    Heres Why:

    For a game the length of a Party mini game, the maze would have to be relatively small. If it was a small maze, people would just memorize the correct path, and go to it every time. Then say you wanted to use a random maze every time, a random generating maze would be pretty challenging to code, if not impossible (To my knowledge).

    How do you know what the coding would be like if you aren't a coder yourself?
    If it randomizes brand new mazes every time, it could create a lot of lag, similar to the Wool Mix Up.
    It also would take more time, since mazes are designed to be tricky, not speed.

    It looks like this would be extremely hard to code. It is also time consuming and could not work in MinecraftParty. I personally like the idea of a good well layed out maze, but it would be too long.

    Pschht. This code is easy.
    Basically, divide the maze area into an imaginary grid of 3x3 cubes. For every cube, each of the 4 sides will be either open or blocked. After all the cubes have generated, use a recursive algorithm to check if the maze is possible, and if not, regenerate it.

    I would use the same style they used in Black Ops 2 in Zombies where in Buried the maze has the same routes but paths open and close in different directions so the paths to the end always change without changing the maze itself. Is that something that can be done?

    Coding is not as easy as you think it is. I in my opinion anyways would this this is an okay idea. But what if the code generated the same maze as before..., that'd be a problem.

    Well it happens in the game so I don't think it would be bad as long as it doesn't do it very often..

    While generating a maze may be easy, I believe that Hudstorm is still correct. I do not believe it would be fun to find your way through a maze, especially since it relies so heavily on luck.

    It's possible. Sethbling made a filter for mazes so you would just need to put a random tick counter (also exists) to choose the map each time.

    Exactly. I'm not a fan of the luck games in MinecraftParty (diamond mine for instance). I like games that you can become progressively better at, and actually challenge others in. Therefor, I don't see this being a very fun MinecraftParty game.

    Player collision would also be a big thing in this. imagine ten people trying to walk down a one wide tunnel where if you touch the walls you start to die? not a very fun time.

    A game based on luck and memory has no potential. Minecraft party is known for its addictive fun game modes. Unfortunately, running through a cactus Maze is not what I could consider enjoyable after a while. Even if new mazes were randomly generated, the game would still get old. Lacking any sort of skill required to beat the game, your idea is purely based on luck which I don't like.

    This is my opinion on your game, sorry for sounding harsh it just wasn't in my interest.
