So, I'm trying to install Debian Wheezy on my shiny new Dell Inspiron 17.
I resize a partition for Linux, then I load necessary firmware onto a FAT32 flash drive.
Then I disable "Boot Securely" option in the BIOS, and run the installer via the local HDD.

It runs smoothly until I attempt to detect network hardware. It seems to detect eth0, but now wlan0 for some reason, and that's screwing me up. I tried using a different firmware, and even using a USB adapter with respective firmware, but nothing works. It only ever tries to use eth0, which doesn't work for me.

Can somebody with experience help me with this?
