    I was wondering whether it would be better for players to spawn with a couple more food items.

    Seeing as there is always a town or looting place nearby when you spawn this is not really needed. Thanks for suggesting though.

    Yes, there are always towns somewhere close by.
    They are close enough to the point you shouldn't have no sprint if you go straight to it.
