Any tips on using C4?

Hmm, what I do with C4 is just place it at a wall, and when people run through, BOOM. Quad kill. Or I just place it on the ceiling if someone's above me and get a kill.

 

Keep in mind c4 blows up when you die, so putting it where someone would shoot from if they sneak up on you could get them killed when they kill you.

Also hiding c4 (if you want to use it tactically) can be hard, either on a ceiling, where people don't pay attention to, or somewhere that it looks like it's part of the map.

 

After failing with C4 for a while, here's what I can say...
When to use C4?

• TDM
• CTF
• Infect
• Onein
• FFA

How to use it?

• TDM/CTF: If you find a choke point, or if an enemy is charging at you and you're reloading both weapons, find an area to place C4, and hide there. Place both C4, and when an enemy (or multiple enemies) come(s), detonate the C4. It will blow up when you die, so use that to your advantage.
• Infect: As a survivor, your C4 can one shot all zombies but the root. Generally, place one C4 in a choke point or in a strategic area. When zombies come, detonate the C4 if you want to save a teammate/you'll die otherwise. Remember that as said above, C4 will detonate when you die, so try not to die or you will be infected, and you'll accidentally C4 glitch. As a zombie: Throw any and all tacticals you have. They won't help you; they'll only get in your way. You can, however, use flashbangs as decoy grenades. If you have grenades from the war buy menu or you want to use flashbangs as a decoy, put them in the first slot, with the C4 in the second slot and an empty slot right after it for the detonator. When using it, quickly place it then scroll to the slot next to it, where the detonator will spawn. You'll blow up the C4, and you'll get your kills. A great way to quickly get kills is to go to the blue spawn. If there are AFK players there, you're in luck. Before you get killed off, quickly place a C4 or two by the AFK players and detonate it. If you're lucky, you'll launch a zombie EMP, although the blues might accuse you of C4 glitching. Remember, you didn't, so it's fine.
• Onein: You'll need to be careful with C4 here. Place one C4 by an area where a player might be, and run away. Make sure there are no enemies to shoot you, and detonate the C4. C4 should only be used in onein when absolutely necessary.
• FFA: C4 is only effective in FFA matches with a larger map (Favela, similar, or larger) and less players (15-). If you need to use it, make sure you aren't near the C4 as it can kill you too. Also make sure no one will shoot you from behind.

Remember that C4 will detonate when you blow up with the exception of playing as a zombie in infect. In addition, you need 2 C4 to kill in all gamemodes but onein and infect.

 

I use it only for infect.

As a survivor I use it as a safeguard if I get rushed I can detonate it, as an infect I use it to get people thru walls and stuff

What Brawler said, find a choke point where people are centered. C4 has a much larger blast radius and damage compared to grenade as far as I can tell, but I may be wrong. Using it through walls is possible, just remember not to glitch with it. We wouldn't want you banned.

 

A tip is on Appaloosa infected or on terminal you should become a zombie then get in the plane where all the people try to get on the ladder set 1 c4 and detonate when people come up. On Appaloosa I get on the stairs to rainbow room wait for someone to come close and kill
