How to stop yourself from being ddosed

    1. Always have a paid vpn on.

Yes this helps. But not if the attacker has your ip, So what do you do if they have your ip? Call your Isp and get a new one, Or get your parents to do it. The Convo Should go something like this: hey, I'm being ddosed and I need a new Ip, She'll ask you some ****, and after everything's done, You should have to wait and you get a new ip, Although, I'm talking out of my ass, Because I've never had to change my ip before. After you do change it, Always have a Paid OFFSHORE vpn, Unless you want the Vpn servers to pick up your watching of porn. :3
    2. NEVER Have your skype the same as your IGN
This is ****ing stupid to do, I don't have my skype the same as my IGN. Don't do it. What you should do if it is, Change your ip and NEVER go on that skype again. Make a new one and always go on a vpn if on it.

Well, that's all I can say about that, If you have proof and you know who's ddosing you, Report it to an admin.

A vpn I recommend is HotSpotSheild, I don't know if it's offshore, But it can get the job done, It's also free, But like 100% better if you get HSS+, The paid version.

A good way for someone to not be able to get your ip is say "Sorry I don't have skype" when they ask "Do you have skype".Only add the people YOU TRUST.

    I hope I helped :3

Whenever someone asks for my skype, I say, "I don't have a Skype, sorry." <--- Good defense maneuver.

    Anyways, nice guide, minedwas!

Great guide, with a server like WarZ this is really useful and I recommend this is moved to 'Guides' section and stickied, @Signatured.

I would think that it would be significantly harder to DDoS through teamspeak, since I think their IP is masked. This is useful, but I think someone told me if you unplug your router for around 8-10 it resets your IP.

It's harder to get peoples on TP3, yes, But if you earn admin rights on it, It's un-masked. Resetting your router and getting a new ip Only works if you have a dynamic IP. I forget how to set it up btw.

You cannot get a client's IP through Teamspeak. Each client sends their voice packets to the server and the server sends them to the people in the chat room. The only IP you could get is our Teamspeak IP.

Users granted explicit permissions can view your IP. On our TS server only full administrators can see a client's IP.

    'masked' :l
Bish, stfu. Yes, it's possible to get someone's IP through teamspeak*.

*If you've gone and ripped the client ID of a player that has the permissions to VIEW an IP. the authentication for that **** is server-side, btw. (eg, putty's got my IP :l)

Another thing; blocking images that don't originate from the site you're viewing. Someone could send you a PM w/ an off-site image, that image could be hosted on their own box, and blam, they've got your IP.

And another thing; ask if your ISP gives you more than one public IP address for you to utilize (can be utilized through a Passthrough/bridge setting, using a specified computer's MAC address, through most routers)
