Servers Going Down in Flames

I agree that there are many immature members of the community, but there is no way to combat that.
I usually ask people to calm down or stop insulting others when they are screaming "U NOOB" or "U FREAKIN HACKER HOW?"
If they keep up their behavior of spamming and using full caps just to rage, they are kicked.
BUT, regular players can also try to help with this problem just by telling the person/people, calmly, to please stop what they are doing.
Its going to take all of us.

 

Moderators cannot act on this unless they are there with the player to discipline them.

With summer here the player count has risen, so it has returned to the state of almost full servers. Staff cannot keep check evry single little thing, so players will have to deal with it (which is usually more effective than relying on someone else to deal with it).

Also, if people are glitching and advertising, please be a contributing player and report them, as staff would do. Gives our Ban Money something to do for the day.

 

You seem to think that staff can just make people stop calling others noobs. Rememberm all they can do is kick and ban. Its going to take player effort as well if you want to combat this.

 

So basically you're saying MCWar is becoming WarZ. In all seriousness though, this is not something that we can just "fix". I try to discourage such behavior whenever I am online (and I am sure staff members do as well), however, there will always be raging in a gaming environment like MCWar. When people are angry, they become irrational, often flinging accusations of hacking/insults left and right. It is not possible to have a large enough staff to constantly moderate all of the servers. Especially when differing timezones and real life demands are factored in. I recommend just doing what I do, attempt to persuade people to act more rationally and if that fails, then just ignore them. Do not be so quick to let others ruin your MCWar experience.

 

Yes I agree to this issue, I come on one of the servers and the first few chat is either noob, hacker, or some other issue like that. I guess the best way is to ignore it, because it practically not going to stop for good.

 

If you feel irritated, use /war chat..

 

Wyatt, you seriously think that's all the problems in McWar? My little McWar rant is just the beginning of what I have addressed about the flaws in the server. Being called insults is probably the smallest of it's problems.

 

I disagree. I see it, but not as much as you are saying. Just ignore it. Turn down Chat opacity. There are many personal solutions available.

 

-start with banning some certain people cough *LTX/LTE* cough
-make the word "noob" and "nub and "newb" censored
-make mvp and vip less op
-make c4 less op
-make ray less op
-make more servers

 

As Jora stated previously, moderators can only do so much. There are so little of them, compared to the masses of us.

Therefore, as players, it becomes our duty to help 'defend' our servers. If you see a flame war, try your utmost best to stop it. No need to call an entire fire department to put out a matchstick. Someone calling someone else a hacker? Tell 'em to file a complaint and quit spamming the chat. Seriously, it makes them look like immature spoiled kids.
As players, we are the ones ultimately responsible for the community's welfare. If the community goes to ****, we'll have no one to blame but ourselves.

 

Here's the thing, back then the community was smaller, as we grew bigger more children and or "Idiots" joined the servers. As a group grows bigger the more immature players you get, It's something you can not completely get rid of unless you whitelist.

I completely understand what you are trying to say, but it's nearly impossible. Like Melting said, we are an ever growing community. Those little rascals become more noticeable, and it only feels like it just spreads like a virus.

Those first three things you mention are all against our rules, and if they occur during the presence of a moderator, they will suffer the consequences. Unfortunately, we are not always on the twelve servers of McWar. It is for why we ask the community to do their part and report rule breakers when seen.

Hackusating, noob calling, and other form of annoyance is out of the reach but it is frowned upon. If I see it get too excessive, I usually tell them to chill out. Excessive hackusation usually leads me to "shut them up" by saying they should record and report any suspicious activity which they believe is hacking. If they rage excessively, I private message them to take a break. I put my best efforts in improving the community, and I think everyone should, too.

 

The server is also downhill when it has members of the community practically farming positive ratings with these threads.
Sure, it may be not looking too good, but 20 threads about practically the same thing won't do anything.

 

Words can be easly censured or changed with plugins, a cooldown for chatting won't stop anybody.

 

I always tell them to calm down, it's only a game. But I guess they usually run into walls and hit their heads.

 

Maybe they can add something like how they deleted advertising in the chat, so you can't say things like 'noob'

 

I agree with censoring those words, but all your other ideas sucks. Really, sucks.
