A thought on war

Meh I honestly am fine with the way the server is, sure theirs cbow spammers, raygun people and raging players but for me, I can still play and have fun. Although I do agree with you about a crossbow relload time. It would help balancing out the gun. I rarely see players calling "minigun noobs" but I guess thats just because Im on a different server (1).

 

I agree that the cross bow needs a reload time. However, if you want some tips on how to not get killed by the crossbow, I've got a few tips.

If you see explosions on the ground, arrows flying one after another around a corner and creating a "minefield" either wait for it to stop, or go a different way. Also avoid cramped areas with lots of players in them. It's pretty simple.

I follow these tips, and I hardly find myself getting killed by the cbow.

I generally don't use the crossbow. If I do, its actually for more open maps like warsong just to use something different.Maps like that are less broken by the crossbow.

I agree. It's statements like this that make me miss the old days of September 2013 when @bolt4thewin could double nuke Warsong_CTF without spamming the bow at all. Man those were the best days of my entire Brawl experience...

@ZapCrusher you are talking about people like Jared being a really skilled player who doesn't donate and I agree, but think on this:

Wouldn't the ultimately skilled player (@meltingangel) be able to play really well with non-donor weapons and not complain about the donor weapons, because they are getting better with something like skullcrusher or dissasembler while the person who spams the crossbow isn't improving?

So, really the way I see it; they're not cheating you, they're cheating themselves out of progress.

 

Well OK, then here's another way to look at it: These crossbow spamming 'noobs' provide a challenge to overcome, an obstacle to get around on the path to becoming a better MC-War player and having fun while you're at it?

I'm just trying to offer an optimistic solution here

 

I agree on your view of the C-Bow, but what about the other donor stuff like Ray-gun and c4?

 

Some maps are more susceptible to crossbow spamming that is true, but how many really are there?

Shipment... 2fort... Plaza... Meltdown(maybe)...Subbase(in my opinion) maybe a handful of others? Considering that we have a massive amount of maps, I really don't think it too much to ask to begrudge these crossbow spammers a handful of these maps to nuke on?

Take a map like Favela or Village. Village is very open, maybe susceptible to spamming in one or two areas, but easily avoidable. Favela is different, lots of building very tightly packed, but with so many streets and so many rooftops available for sniping, it is really very easy to outwit the Common Crossbow Spammer.

 

You can easily avoid a crossbow spammer, but eventually they'll get their free EMP and nuke, unless you actually want to stop them.

 

A: Jumping and shooting is hardly an advantage. Also, a MAP making it op? What about every other map that isnt good for a cbow?
B:True, but so does an iso or any other sniper with a headshot
C: Op Range? Less range than most auto's and WAY less range than any sniper.
D: No reload time, but pulling back the string is much slower than an auto being fired at you.
E. I have never been on a map where so many people were spamming it that I couldnt even walk without getting blown up.

Also, it doesnt make anyone invincible. Trust me, you will most likely die a lot when using it.
I own one, and I hardly use it because it ruins my kdr.
Also, a level gap will always exist. Should we take out VIP or MVP because it allows more experience to be given? No.
Just because someone has a crossbow, doesnt mean they will automatically become a god of mc-war. Trust me, I see lvl 15's using the cbow just shooting it left and right and then he gets killed oh so easily because he doesnt know how to handle a bow. The Cbow is balanced in my opinion. The only reason people see it as a problem is because
1. They dont own one
2. They hate being killed by one
Thats it.
I think that it should stay the way it is.

 

Ikr, I see now people with very high level and who are obviously donors.
Although there is some players who just play well ( like me ) but who don't level up that fast, the only donor thing that I have is scavenger which is necessary at all times.
Although the community as matured in recent times, people less complain and discuss more than raging.

Well you seeeee... I saw a video of joeymast99 using it and I uh.. Kinda just bought it even though I'm really really bad with it

 

C-bow can be easily spammed even with macros. I am sure about that. Then imagine running with a M16 into a guy with superarmor, macro and c-bow. The game is broken.

 

Some maps are completly broken by it while others it is fine.
Take hijacked and dome. You can spam explosive projectiles over cover and just get free kills as people leave from spawn.
