bayonets revisited

The first thread on bayonets talked about the idea itself, but this thread is about how you can code this idea. First of all there should be different levels of bayonets that you can unlock at various levels but they all look the same. Secondly the guns are enchanted. The enchantment does two things adds a bayonet to the end of the gun as the enchantment texture and also gives the gun the ability inflict more damage. Some guns like the Skull Crusher are not tools so they inflict less damage so you could use mods like too many items to increase the enchantment level. Too many items mod only can go up to level ten enchantments and that would probably be enough for the bayonets but if you need a higher level enchantment you could probably find another mod. You can also rename the enchantment if you want to make it cooler.
