On-topic: ummm, I think someone's using a chat hacked cilent

 

I had a problem like this on another server that I used to play. Basically, a hacker manages to get a bunch of accounts online by using a client. He than runs a command through the client in which it tells the other accounts he's using to repeat the same message over and over again; in other words, he/she is using a type of spambot.

The best way to counteract this is have an admin disable the chat until the hacker gives up and leaves.

 

This happened on the pvp server about a month or two ago. It went on for about an hour before it was resolved.

 

It is real, but the meaning of the messages aren't real. You weren't hacked and the server wasn't either.

 

Don't just ban the first player who said the chat message. There's probably an option to mimic what a certain player is saying. It makes sense, maybe the player who said "#hacked" was the one being mimicked?

 

The guy that actually used the hack client, can take over (us) our chat to. I went on the hub, and then my name was in the chat saying, 'Bye' and '#Hacks' to.

 

There is really no way for us to tell who is doing it, unless someone or the staff has a method.

 

This is really strange. I hope it gets fixed soon, assuming there is a way to fix it. I certainly wouldn't want my name saying random stuff in chat!

it could even be one of tac's alts, but really thats a great find hopefully we can figure it out.
that guy is so stupid showing out to everyone he hacked them client making them tell his name.

 

Really the person standing still and is rarely on could be the hacker doing it.

 

Me & Chickenputty have banned all the accounts involved, this shouldn't happen agian.
