    McBrawl Moderator Application:

Well, it's that time again. I've been playing fpsHG ever since it came out, and I must say, it's very fun and addicting. I've gotten a lot more active on Teamspeak, and I'm on it right now if you want to come and chat. A lot of people believe I have an alright chance at fpsHG moderator, so I'm going to give it a shot. If you deny me, just know I try my best. I hope you consider this application, and wish me luck.

Are you active and helpful on our servers, forums, and Teamspeak? -
Servers: The servers I am very active on are, McWar, and WarZ. I'm not that active on Pvp Survival, as I'm not very interested in that sort of thing (factions wise). I am semi active on Kit Brawl, and I would be more active on it if there weren't so many hackers and rule breakers there. I'm also semi active on Minecraft Party, meaning I go on it a lot, but it gets boring after a few hours. As of WarZ, it's very fun, but I'm not interested in moderating it, and it gets a bit boring after a few hours, just like Party.
Forums: I am very active on the forums, as I have 3,565 posts. I usual lurk around the McWar section, but since fpsHG came out, I'm getting into that section as well. I look a moderator applications a lot, but since I can't comment, I just vote my own opinion, like everybody else. I go in the creative section a lot, mostly to look at the F1R3 building team page, and the rank applications. I sometimes look in the off topic section, mostly out of curiosity.

Approximately, how many rule breaker reports have you submitted? - I recently submitted an advertiser report to you guys. There has recently been a lot of advertisers and hackers on the hub, fpsHG, and McWar (Advertisers in War, not hackers). I am reporting these players whenever I see them do anything wrong. I don't really count my rule breaker reports, so I'd estimate around 31 or 32 in my time here at McBrawl. This is not including the times I have reported threads on the forums, and/or players. I'd guess I've reported threads and players on this forums around 23 or 24 times.

How old are you? - I am 15 years of age.

What time zone are you in? - I live in the Central timezone.

What is your experience and knowledge of Minecraft? -
Around 2 or 3 years ago, my Dad's best friend persuaded my Dad into purchasing this amazing game. When my Dad finally budged, he got me and my brother a character. The problem was, it was only ONE character. Me and my brother had to share for a few months, each taking hour turns. It was annoying at first, but then we finally got used to it. I was amazed at the amount of things you could do in the game. From building houses, to punching trees, it was just awesome. Then, when my Dad finally got enough money, he finally got my brother another account, which he named "strikerbubba". I kept the account "tallscot", and that's still what I'm called today. Then, I finally tried out the "Multiplayer" section on Minecraft. My in real life friends (legofanatic2 and aantz) found two servers: Project Ares, and MC-WAR.COM. I wasn't really interested in Project Ares, so I tried McBrawl. It was boring at first, mostly because I was TERRIBLE at it. After a month of playing, I finally took a break for a few months to try other servers that I found on youtube. Then one day, while I was browsing my server list, I came across McWar. Curious, I joined the server, thinking that it would have changed. Boy, was I right. Clans had supposedly been added, a new McWar texture, new players, new friends, and a whole new challenge to face. I quickly got the hang of it. The McWar texture pack seemed to make it a lot easier for me, and after 2 months of playing, I finally got to how I play today. I used the old barret (was better than the Iso at the time), and the desert eagle. I won gun games, free for alls, oneinthechambers, and I was just having a blast. Then, when I joined my first clan (Risk), I thought I had it made. You see, the owner of Risk (monkeyface) was REALLY good friends with me, Gynamo, and munkeywr3nch. We called (and still call) ourselves the "doods". Then, after that, more "doods" came along. Such as: karolina52 and kingocheese. We were great players, and we competed against each other. This was supposedly during "the good ol' days". After this, I progressed, and finally got where I am today.

What is your experience with moderating servers? - When I started playing Multi-player around 2 or 3 years ago, legofanatic2 (mentioned above) created a server that me and him would own together. I was more of a head admin or head of staff then a real owner, but legofanatic2 considered me as one. I picked all of the staff members of the server, and some of them were members of McBrawl. Including:
    • onik2001
    • munkeywr3nch
    • blokadoy
    • Cyrius
And a lot more. Our server progressed, and I helped moderate and made sure everything was in order. Me and lego had no plug-ins at the moment, so we studied command blocks and used them to make it seem like a real server. We had a lot of fun mini games, and we were just about to make it public, when someone griefed the server down to rubble. After this, we made the server better than it was, when it got griefed again. We soon figured out who it was, and we banned him from the server (don't worry it wasn't any of our staff members). A few days after that, the server supposedly went down, and me and lego didn't understand why. The server is currently offline, and I haven't played it since.

Now, in March 2014, I came across a server entitled "Bending Heroes". When I came online, some players were flaming. I helped the staff out and calmed down the players, and a lot of the staff recommended me to apply. I was skeptical at first, because I had only just begun the server, but they urged me on. I then applied on their forums, and after a few days, I surprisingly got accepted. I was shocked at first, and then I started to moderate the server with everyone else. I was a TMOD at the time, which stands for "Trial Mod", which is basically the "Trial" rank we have here. A few days after that, I was promoted to JMOD, which stands for "Junior Mod". Then, around a week after that, they promoted me to "MOD", and then "HMOD" after that, which stands for "Head Moderator". I was pretty shocked at how well I had done in the server, so I know now that I can handle moderating a server. I continued moderating the server as HMOD, until I finally decided to resign because I realized I like this server more, and I was devoting too much time to that server. Here's the proof that I was a Head Moderator:

What will you provide to the community if you are provided moderator status? - Every time I am on fpsHG, McWar, pretty much any server, there is always that one person who is flaming, calling out hacks, threatening people in multiple ways, and just being a jerk to people just for the fun of it. Since I am not a staff member, and there's no staff members on at the moment, I have no choice but to PM a mod to come online. Since spam and caps reports aren't accepted, this is my only option. Now, whenever I PM the mod about it, they usually don't respond until AFTER the rule breaker leaves the game to go terrorize another server. Then it's just awkward when the mod shows up looking for the rule breaker. Now, whenever they ARE doing something reportable, such as hacking or threatening to d dos a player (etc.), I will screenshot/record them, and then report them. Although, most of the time, whenever I report them, they continue doing it until they decide to leave the server, and then they're banned. This is a frequent cycle, and I feel that we need more dedicated moderators to moderate the servers. I intend to stop all of this malice, and if you've seen me in game, you've already seen me trying to stop it. Warning players whenever I can whenever there aren't any mods on.

Have you ever used a hacked client before? - No. To be honest, I don't have a clue HOW to hack, and if I did, I'd have no intention on doing it. I don't like cheating.

Have you ever been banned on a Minecraft server? If so, why? - Yes. If you look above in the application, I said something about the Project Ares server. When I got online, it was just another PvP server. I was instantly bored by it, so I quit. Then, a few days later, I got back online just out of curiosity. Now, some of you may remember how I acted a long time ago. I was extremely immature back then, so when somebody killed me in Project Ares, I called them an idiot. I was then banned by an admin called "Frozen(then a bunch of numbers)" for "Keep in a calm, soothing environment". I then found out that Project Ares was an extremely strict server, and didn't tolerate any malice. Unfortunately, I had to find that out the hard way. I have completely changed since then, and I will not insult or flame at anybody.

How active do you consider yourself in-game? - I am very active in game. I am usually on McBrawl around 5 hours a day, and sometimes I'm on it a lot more than that.

How active do you consider yourself on TS3? - I used to be inactive on Teamspeak, but I got more into it. I've been on Teamspeak over an hour every day for the past week or so, and I am on it right now (as said above). I will be on it a lot today, and I will continue being active on it, accepted or not.

How active do you consider yourself on the forums? - I am extremely active on the forums, as I have 3,565 posts. I mentioned above on what sections I lurk in, so I find no need to type it here, too.

What do you consider your greatest strength? -
My greatest strength is probably my cleverness. Usually in real life, there are bullies in my school. They know not to mess with me of course, but only because I had the courage to act clever, and frankly just act. The first day of school, was the worst day of my life. Those bullies shoved me, kicked me, teased me, and I just got sick of it. So the next day, I went around school with my phone pretending that I was recording everything. I kept it in my pocket until the bullies arrived. When those kids crept up to me, I twirled around fast, took my phone out of my pocket as if it was a pistol, and pretended to record the kids. I told them that if they lay a finger on me, I'd give this "proof" to the principal. They backed off after that. This may be a bit off topic, but you may want to try this. If you have bullies at your school, you may want to try this method. It worked for me, it may have the same luck rub off on you!

What do you consider your greatest weakness? - Impatience. I am still getting over being impatient, and I've almost gotten over it, too. I've been patient moderating Bending Heroes, and I believe I can do the same job here, too. As I matured over the months, so did my impatience. I mean, I got this far, didn't I? It takes a lot of time and effort to change in the way I did, from an immature idiot, to a mature friendly player.

How would you handle someone making a minor transgression for the first time? -
I would warn them. This would be a simple solution to solving any problem if you're a moderator, and even if you are a regular player! Considering if you're lucky or not.

How would you handle the same person doing it again a second time? -
If they did the same transgression a second time, I would kick them from the server. No questions asked.

How would you handle that person doing it again for the third time? -
This would be very unlikely, and this would probably not happen, unless the person was desperate for attention. But if they did the exact same transgression for the third time in a row, I would ban them for 1 hour max, 1 minute minimum. It would all depend on the transgression they performed. For example:

Spamming the letter "k": Temp-ban for 5 minutes.
Spamming, insulting, advertising, and just being quite rude: Temp-Ban for 1 hour, with a report to go with it.
I may not have mentioned this, but with the Temp-Ban, I would also have a report to go along with it.

What is your reaction if someone publicly proves you wrong on the forums? - This actually has happened to me before, a lot. I usually just say something like "Oh, sorry for the misunderstanding", and then I drop the conversation like it never happened, and get on with life.

What would you do when someone breaks a rule on the forums? - It depends on what rule that certain player broke. For example:
    • If that one player gravedug I thread, I'd quote their post, and then warn them not to gravedig. I'd explain what gravedigging is, and then lead them to the link on where chickenputty explains what gravedigging is. After I warn him, I'd lock the thread due to it being a Gravedig. If i was unsure on whether or not to lock it, I'd PM an experienced mod or Super-Mod.
    • However, if that one player was spamming threads, like moderator applications or just threads in fpsHG/McWar, or frankly any server discussion, I'd comment on each of their threads warning not to spam threads. Then, I'd lock all of the threads but one, so they could continue their conversation on that one thread. When I warn them, I'd give a link to that one open thread, telling them to continue their conversation there. But if they spammed moderator applications, I'd ask them not to spam it, and then report all of their applications but when entitled "Spam Thread".
When would you lock a thread? -
    1. Duplicate thread.
    2. Grave-dig.
    3. Flame war.
    4. Thread made with an overly average amount of profanity.
    5. Spam thread.
    6. Person who created the thread requests a lock, and it would be pointless to keep it open.
    7. Someone asked a question in the thread, and the question was answered.
If a thread didn't have any of these in it, but I would think that it could be locked, I would ask a higher ranked staff member. Such as Colonel_Chris, GreenPeas_, Signatured, Giggadream, etc.

Describe yourself in 3 words: Clever, enthusiastic, active.

Anything else we should know about you? - As I said above, I believe we need more dedicated staff members. A lot of people agreed with me on that, so I believe it should be done. If you don't consider me a "dedicated staff member", that's alright. I believe I can do a good job, and I will not give up.
I'm usually on Teamspeak at 10:00 am. If I leave teamspeak, I'll most likely be on it again later in the day.

Situation: A player is out of the map on MC-WAR. What are the steps that you would take to ensure that this player and situation is properly dealt with? - Now, I'm not applying for McWar, so I'll come up with a situation for fpsHG (For future references, if you want to use this situation when you apply for fpsHG, feel free to do so):
Situation: A player is flying around in the spawn. What are the steps that you would take to ensure that this player and situation is properly dealt with? - If I see a player flying around in the spawn, I would record or screenshot the hacker, and then report him until an SMOD would look at the report, and decide if he would be banned or not.

Do you generally know how all the plugins and commands work? - Yes.

Do you realize that if you are disrespectful or abuse your power, your power will be taken away? - Yes, I realize this, and I do not intend on abusing my power or disrespecting any members of any kind. I respect this regulation, and I hope you know I would not do this.

This took me quite a while to create, so I hope you give it a chance. I believe I can be a great staff member, and you don't have to. I won't give up until you think of me as a great member like Signatured, so I hope you will consider my application.

    Sincerely, tallscot/tallscoat2

This is a great application Tall. I know I recommended that you create a moderator application, I did this because I believe you have what it takes to become a moderator. You are active in all 3: forums, ts, and in-game. This is a great application, +1

Thanks Chicken. It means a lot

By the way. I'll edit this into the application, but I'm usually on Teamspeak at 10:00 am. If I leave teamspeak, I'll most likely be on it again later in the day.
