If you ask most players and/or forums members what the biggest problem with Mc-War is, most will tell you it's the community, (the rest will probably tell you it's OP guns, but that's being fixed "soon" already.)
The problem is, attitude isn't really something you can fix in an update, a raging player either needs someone to calm him down or to have motivation to stop being toxic in chat. This brings me to my suggestion:
/profile will track another stat, called reputation (or "rep" for short.) All players will start with a rep of 50/100 - Average, every 10 points up or down will have it's own designation, such as Under Average, Above Average, Poor, and Excellent, color-coded to how good it is.

    How to change your reputation:
The commands /plusrep <username> and /minusrep <username> (or possibly /minrep) will be added for any player to use. /Plusrep would be used on anyone you found nice/helpful/funny/entertaining while /minusrep would be used on anyone you found annoying/toxic/mean/unhelpful.
One player using a command would not do very much to someone's reputation, but over time you'll be able to see what the general community thinks of someone.

    The point:
What does reputation do? Glad you asked, hypothetical question-asker! For one, a clan's average reputation would be viewable through /clan info, and clan owners would be able to see a list of players far below average, so they could adjust their clan membership accordingly to raise their average reputation.
The clan's reputation could then attract players who would've said no otherwise, and players with bad reputations will find it hard to get accepted into good clans that would've just looked at gameplay stats before. This would encourage better attitudes and a cleaner chat.

How much effect would one player have?/Limiting reputation abuse.
Multiple factors would determine how much of an effect a plus or minus rep would have, this is aimed at lowing bias from the friends or enemies of a specific player.

Things that would increase the effect a plus/minusrep would have:
-Having a high reputation would mark you as trustworthy, increasing your effect.
-Not giving anybody reputation for a while, so the fact you did something you don't normally do is special.
-Being a staff member, since most people aren't promoted if they aren't nice and mature.
-Giving a plusrep to someone who was just on the other team, good sportsmanship is good.
-A clan mod/owner giving a plusrep to a different clan's mod/owner, good sportsmanship is still good.

Things that would decrease the effect a plus/minusrep would have:
-Having a low reputation would mark you as more likely to abuse the commands, decreasing your effect
    -Can't use it on yourself.
-Can only give a player rep once every 24 hours, no command spamming!
-Being in the same clan, since that increases your clan's reputation by extension.
-Repeatedly giving rep to/taking rep from the same member would result in diminishing returns.
-Can only use these commands on someone who is on your server and has said at least one thing into chat.
-If you're caught being OOM, abusing glitches, or spamming chat it's still not bannable, but it has a huge hit on your reputation.
-Reaching 0/100 reputation (should be really hard to do) would mute the player, reputation mutes could be appealed like a ban if the player shows he has become more mature.
-If you're caught abusing the commands or telling people to plusrep you, you'll lose rep as if you had been abusing glitches.

The algorithm for how reputation would be calculated would take a lot of effort and testing to refine, but if it solves a lot of player's biggest problems, I think it would be worth it.

tl;dr, mean people get marked as mean people and vice versa.

That is cool, but people can just lie and keep putting minus reps on you even though your being helpful. I will have to say neutral -0

That was the idea behind the 24 hour cool down and repeated reports getting less effective, but I couldn't think of a way to get rid of that entirely.
C'mon, you've never felt grateful to a guy who helped you understand something?
Never met a player you liked and would totally help out in return?
Be more specific please? I can change the idea a bit.

    -1.
You have the right idea, but too many people would abuse this command, and as tdaddy said, most people on McWar aren't truthful. Some people would minus their rep just because they killed you.

I agree with the first part of your suggestion that raging players do need some attention and that the Staff community should be more involved with the players of the game. Though just as tallscot said, there could be some abuse that goes along with this idea.

Maybe the staff would choose some people that are trust worthy. Let's so most of the high ranked people on the server are pretty trust worthy. Such as mafiaferret, lord_roke and so forth. I like the reputation idea so since lord is mod he has the power to give mafiaferret if he trust him able to give people reps. So say captainbrawler comes on and sees that my rep is 50/100 (that's what you start on) and he's like. "Wow, Andy you're really good at this game, you're always helping people out so I'm gonna give you 10 rep. (Mods can only add 10 rep each time, smod 20 rep). So, since captain has used his 10 rep on me I now have 60 rep. If captain gives me another 10 rep the next time he comes on I would have 70/100. So what if it was only people with 80 rep that can give people 1 rep. People that are classed as un trustworthy 40/100 and stuff won't be able to vote. With a bit of tweaking I think the idea could work.

You should have your reputation depend on what you say I chat, for instance if you swear then your reputation will be lowered.

    Like this?
    =============================================
Spamming= -7 rep (same goes for advertising)
    Swearing= -5 rep
    Hackusating= -10 rep
    Noob Calling= -10 rep
Glitching= If 7+ people say you glitched in chat, -15 rep (note,miss-use of this can be reportable.)
Thats all I can think of.

This is a great idea in theory, but when you apply it you rarely yield a positive result. On many other platforms they have tried this and it is hardly a hit. Take Xbox, I game on that like I game here. Some of you know how I game and can attest that this is not me. Yet this is what my reputation is:
40% preferred you or did not submit a review about you.
60% avoid you See Details for more info.
    Details
    Communications
    Trash talk: 6%
    Language: 0%
    Disruptive: 0%
    Behavior
    Aggressive: 6%
    Unsporting: 50%
    Quit Early: 12%

I do like what Spykryo suggested. Were the reputation is not based on other players reviews but the system. Take out the bias and it could possibly work. Instead of angry players leaving distasteful player submissions the system marks players according to how they actually act in-game. This would have to be fine tuned, because making a system work to reward a players good reputation while not making any mistakes leading to a poor reputation is probably a large order.

I like that idea, no bias and a similar system, except that our advertiser catching system is kinda buggy right now

This is a much better idea than the one of who created this thread scince people can just do/minusrep for no good reason if they wanted with the idea in the thread. And even if just one guy doing this wouldn't harm much but the problem is that if a group of players did this against 1 player it would damadge. IL give you a creative tough.

Use alts to plusrep yourself. Win life.

But seriously, I like this idea for the most part, though it has its flaws. Such as my first sentence.

You could have trolls that can minus your rep if your a super nice guy. And also the fact a lot of people have alts here.

Even though I like the idea. It's still -1

Interesting idea, but it's a bit too complicated. If Mc-War coders are going to make something like that, just use the /ignore command.

You have the right idea, but it's been proven to many times in this community (sadly) that the honor system is just ineffective
