ping?

It basically is a way of seeing how well your internet is connecting to a server.
The lower the ping, the better. That means it takes less time to receive messages from the server.
This is why when the server gets incredibly laggy, your ping goes up.

 

Yes, that is pretty good! That means there is a 200 millisecond delay with every action you take. For example, you right click to eat or shoot, and there is a 2 tenth second delay.

 

Yeah, that's okay, I normally get somewhere from 99-170, and no lag, if you can see the lag, then that's when you know it's starting to get bad.

 

Ping is basically the time it takes from when you click the button on your keyboard or mouse from when it actually does that thing in-game. 200 ms is very good. Above ~350 and you're lagging.

You my friend were probably had the crappiest internet ever or were getting hit, because I'm pretty sure you would of lagged out with that kind of ping.
My average non-lag ping is like 300-400
My average lag lag ping is 700-4000

The ping is the distance between your computer and the host of the server, if you have like a ping under 100 ms then you'll have no server lag but if you get over 200 then that's bad.
