Idea Ideas to make Survival more unique

    I've been thinking of a few ways to make our server different than other survival servers.
    Here are some of my vague ideas:
    Top balance command
    Bounty hunting
    Blood moons
    Trophies
    Ores smelt when they drop
    Custom enchantments
    Ores smelt when they drop​
    Put your experience in a bottle
    Ability to enderpearl
    Integrating zombie and skeleton horses
    End resets weekly at a certain preannounced time​
    Anyone else have any 'unordinary' ideas?

    Sounds great - every idea is good. I think blood-moons is a good idea; making it more apocalyptic at night would create more fear adding to the survival.

    I love every single idea there, I'll try think of some of my own and post them here. c:

    When you kill a person there's a chance for their player head to drop. >:V I guess this is already on quite a few servers though...

    Something to make you not want to come out at night. Higher witch spawns, zombies that dig structures, etc..

    Acknowledging the fact the game-mode encourages PVP, why not ranks you level up to based on kills?

    i.e: 20 kills = Murderer Rank

    *Although now I recognise this would be easily exploitable.

    Custom enchantments would be awesome. I know you can make some wicked ones.
    The End resetting would be a big hit. Weekly events that would be worth for both the players and staff. Players get a good challenge while the staff can use it as a tool to keep the server fresh instead of cranking out new "events" now and then.
    The zombie and skeleton horses would be fun. It would be cool it they gave the player unique buffs.

    Add something to do with lightning would be interesting. Not sure what but I believe someone could think of a cool new use for it.

    Add Bosses, they can drop the new items with enchantments and such. Bosses could spawn randomly throughout the world or in certain areas where you have to go through a maze or floors to reach the boss. Though it would become more of a rpg server than a pvp server if we did this. Just a suggestion.

    Good ideas Mojang. Maybe we could work with some existing mobs/bosses to make them more of a challenge, or even some new bosses (zombie giant, slime giant, etc) that you could summon.

    That would be awesome, I feel that it would bring more of a PvM aspect to the game that I really enjoy and maybe some of the players out there. This would be a way to release these new items enchantments possibly without having to make it so you can buy enchantment or something around the lines of that. It would really boom the trade market with tons and tons of player interaction to decide the prices for these new enchantments that will be releasing.

    We had this idea before, it sounds good basically but maybe it can lead to flame wars and big arguments.

    Blood moons

    No idea what you mean with that

    Trophies
    Again no idea

    Ores smelt when they drop
    Its not a big deal to put the ores in a furnace to smelt them, so I does not really seem necessary.

    Custom enchantments

    Would make PvP a lot more interesting, but we need to make sure the enchantments are balanced.

    Put your experience in a bottle

    Also a great idea, cause at the moment, experience is the only thing I really need.

    Ability to enderpearl
    Well, enderpearls work in nether and end. If they are also enabled in overworld, you still shouldn't be able to use them in 512 blocks around spawn, cause otherwise the loosing players could always get away.

    Integrating zombie and skeleton horses
    This is propably not a big deal, cause they are just a other kind of horses somehow. The problem is that you can't use spawner eggs within 512 blocks of spawn, so its hard to bring a horse for PvPing.

    End resets weekly at a certain preannounced time

    Weekly is maybe a bit too often, make it like 2 or 3 weeks.

    I have come up with a few ideas that could help make PVP seem more unique compared to other servers.

    • Mob effects - This idea is very simple. It basically takes normal mobs, and gives a small amount of them effects that will make them more challenging to fight. I think that this has been added into Minecraft already, but the chances of a mod spawning like that are ridiculously low, and with this idea they would spawn more often (One out of every 100 mobs spawned?). A list of the mob abilities could be:
    1. Invisibility: Pretty much self-explanatory. Mobs would be nearly invisible to players, but some part of the mob would still be showing - for Spiders it could be the eyes, and for Zombies and Skeletons it could be a sword or bow?
    2. Strength: Yet again it's all in the title, with mobs being stronger than usual. This means that all mobs would deal more hearts to players, whilst being able to take 1/2 -1 heart less damage.
    3. Venom Touch: Mobs with this effect would have a small chance of "infecting" their prey with venom. The venom would have the same effect as being infected in WarZ, along with having the Damage potion for 30 seconds.
    • Ranks - This idea is based off of WarZ. In WarZ, for those who don't know, there are three non-donor ranks that apply to everyone. These are:
    -Hero: A hero on WarZ is someone with a humanity level of over 20,000. When you become a hero you get a light blue name above your 'Steve' character. Apart from this there is no additional perks or features, apart from the fact that people are more likely to trust a Hero.

    -Survivors: These are people with a humanity level of '0' to '20,000'. When you first join you will have this rank, and it provides you with the standard white name. Nothing else.

    -Bandits: Probably the most common rank for WarZ players to have; you achieve it when you get a negative humanity. When you become a bandit your name becomes red, and this makes people more cautious about being around you.

    So my idea is based off this system. What would happen is there would be a similar humanity type addition to the scoreboard, and depending on how much of that you have, you would have different ranks. I have not yet been able to come up with any ideas for what the ranks would be named, or what abilities they would have, so I'll leave that up to you.

    These are the two ideas that I have come up with so far, I hope you enjoy them.

    Well, the ideas are nice, but the problem is, that no one really fights mobs on PvP Survival. We PvP with other players, we raid bases, we mine, we build bases. But I have never found anyone that goes out in night on a regular basis just to fight mobs. So if they add this, the mobs would be hanging around on surface with no one killing them.

    Then about the rank idea:
    How exactly would it work?
    How do you get more humanity, how less? There are no bloodbags on PvP Survival, so how could you get a high one?

    Gold trading system between players
    A NPC shop at spawn selling useful items to useless or wacky ones with a certain price
    Receiving a certain amount of gold each time you log for a certain time ( you would receive like 0.10 gold )

    My Ideas
    Possible Plaque Plugin?
    Like if a person is to be hit by zombie with some kind of infection that causes nausea, then the person with the virus will randomly come nauseas at times. Then the infection could be passed on to
    A. random animals
    B. Other players
    Then they would have to figure out how to cure the infection. The players must figure out what kind of potion counteracts the infection. If the cure isn't found soon enough it goes away. Mobs have a rare chance of giving a plaque away. Some could lead to death and others could just be the sniffles ^_^

    I love these ideas, the blood moon would be really fun :3
    It's going to be like a chance of a blood moon happening right? In chat it'll say like in red: A blood moon is rising!
    Some bosses/mobs could be really nice, like special mobs that run fast, deal wither or fire or poison damage.

    I got some boss/mob ideas if you would like to hear them.

    Wither Skeleton in the overworld:
    Spawns only in a blood moon (20% of spawning around a player in the world)
    -Has 50 hearts
    -Deals 10 hearts of damage without armor
    -Gives a wither II debuff (20 seconds)
    Drops:
    -Glowstone dust 1-4 (20% chance)
    -Golden sword (10% chance)
    -Wither Skull (5% chance)
    -Smite of the gods enchantment book|Smite V (5% chance)

    Boss:
    Gourd the Zombie
    Only spawns during a blood moon (0.1% chance) or summoned by right clicking a Suspicious Looking Z-Head. To craft it:

    -100 or 200 hearts
    -30 hearts of damage without no armor
    -Gives poison II and wither II debuff (30 seconds)
    -Speed I buff
    Drops:
    -The Bane of Dark Diamond Sword|Smite V, Unbreaking III or IV [if possible] (5% chance)
    -Sharpness V Book (25% chance)
    -Rotten Flesh 12-32 (100% chance)


    One idea that might be fun is "Vampirism" aka Lifesteal.
    On each hit (depends on your damage), you'll gain 1/8 or 1/10 of your life back from that hit.
    The enchantment only maxes out at I and can only be added to Swords. Bows with lifesteal will not work.

    Staff of Fire
    -Summons a fire ball that shoots straight forward that burns the enemy for 4 seconds (2 second cool down)
    -Can only be dropped by a Wither Skeleton (5% chance)

    Events:

    The Jungle grows restless...
    -This will only happen during a blood moon
    -Mobs start spawning like crazy in the jungle biome
    -Mobs will do more damage
    -Wither Skeletons will spawn during this event


    A Blizzard is coming...
    -This can randomly happen at any given time in the snow biomes
    -Mobs will start to spawn more
    -Mobs will give you a slowness debuff
    -However the loot chance will increase during this event.
    -Drop: Blizzard Staff is a drop from this event (1% chance)
    -Blizzard Staff: Fires a ice bolt at somebody causing 5 hearts of damage (no armor), and slowness 2 for 5 seconds. The fire time between the ice bolt is 15 seconds. To make this not unbelievable op, the time for it to charge is very long.


    The Blood Moon is rising...
    -Mobs will start spawning more often.
    -The loot chance of mobs will increase.


    A Solar Eclipse is happening!
    -Mobs will become insanely powerful.
    -Only happens in Snow Forest and Desert biomes.

    I'll make more and add it to this post.

    Iron golems and snow golems could turn into better body guards. Or even minibosses as Mojang suggested.

    As a long time PvP player I'm not too open for change and I like the server the way it is. However, some of these ideas seem helpful such as the Top Balance Command, the auto-smelting ores, the experience in a bottle, and enderpearling. I just feel like some things may turn this server into something more like an adventure map, which is not what its intended for, or make it more like other servers with a multitude of plugins that add a bit too much. Just my opinion =3

    Some of my ideas would be server voting and maybe a way to tell who is in a certain team. Like "Team Ba55, total members 10 (list of names with maybe the currently online player's names highlighted). We can't get too carried away with the bosses or other new mobs because new players with a wood sword need to survive. I know if I joined a server went out into the wilderness and got a sword and some other supplies, only to be murdered by an op boss or other mob, I would probably quit the server.
