What we need: the clan reset

Creating to combine the knowledge of this community into one page. The topic? Clans. Why am I posting this here and not the clan section? Because the subforum is going away soon. This is technecly a guide but I wanted us to discuss this topic and maybe even prove my thought wrong?
This will include my list of clan leading dos and donts as well as a clan member dos and donts
Feel free to modify or suggest things as you guys want, let's talk!

Clan leading

DO
-be friendly
-promote some mods
-make a requirement system
-make a rule system
-let your clan members be themselves
-allow a loophole so that under leveled players can still get into the clan if they prove themselves
-USE THE /player info COMMAND

DONT
-be controlling
-be a pushover
-mod to many people
(1:10 ratio)
-think yourself better then others
-be to serious (it's a game)

Clan members

DO
-listen to your leader
-respect your leader
-be respectful to other clan members
-try to be polite to others (your carrying the clans name on your shoulders)

DONT
-ask for mod
-ever overstep your authority
-speak for the clan
-attack other players verbally (especially clan members)
-be a pushover (your carrying the clan's name)

And there you have it, now I want to know what you guys think, add your thoughts on what we need for the new clans to be better then last time!
Make a list, or just a wall of text, but I want this to be as open as possible so everyone feels like they can contribute they're thoughts to the page

Edit: note: please remember that these are suggestions. This is what I feel the optimal clan would be like. I am not in any way trying to make it look like other people's way of doing things is incorrect, this is why I asked for others to contribute
