"Hacker!" Claims

    So I was playing Mc-War recently and one player was calling another player a hacker. Now this happens frequently and since I like to play on lightly populated servers there isn't usually a moderator on. So I always respond to these claims in one way every time, so I would like to know whether I am responding appropriately or not. This is what I say,"[person who is claiming that the other is a hacker], if [accused hacker] is hacking, then you should get proof and go report it to the forums. If you can't get proof then if [claimed hacker] really is hacking then someone else should have the proof. Either way please don't call someone a hacker because just claiming that they are a hacker does nothing."


    I would really appreciate if a mod would tell me if I'm taking the right approach, but if you're not a mod I would still like you're opinion.

    This is a great approach, better than what I've seen people say.

    While most players do not take that approach because they like hearing the hackusations or don't feel like typing all that, you are definitely taking the right approach as you are trying to work out both sides to come to a resolution between the hackusator and the defendant.

    In my opinion, this is the perfect thing to say. I try to say almost the exact same thing to any player that I see accusing another player of hacking. I doubt most of the players that I tell that to actually report the "hacker" but it is always worth a try. Some players don't know that you can report players on the forums.

    This is one of the best ways to respond to this. It tends to make the hackusator stay quiet, and not say anything else as he is just most likely raging about getting killed and blaming his kill on someone that probably has skill but calls them a hacker.

    I just say "saying someone hacks is just an excuse for no skill" because it almost always is.

    Just tell them where to report, and it's all good. That makes most hackusators shut up.
