Hello all, I've been really searching up how to fix the VERY ANNOYING 'Disk Read' error. I tried making my laptop going into the BIOs, but when pressing F2, 8, or 10 only causes the laptop to begin beeping until I shut it off. I can't manage to get money atm, as there are rarely summer jobs. If you have a solution for this, I'd greatly appreciate it. Trust me, I've been doing research about this on over 5 different websites.

Your computer can't read the disk? Oh well, no idea what is happening then. Corrupted HDD or Windows system files? Have you been messing around in %appdata% or in the System32 folder?

No, but every time I restart my computer it tells me to disk check my computer, but I cancel it, like Windows told me to. I think I got this error from failing to allow the computer to check the disk before it boots up.

    What is System32 :v
It's an error with your system files I'm guessing, not sure how to fix it honestly.

I've always heard about it in some memes...
    let's google it.
    This is what I got:
    • System32, a directory in the Windows operating system containing system files and written when opening CMD command prompt.
I see how messing with System32 could be dangerous now.

System32 is essentially everything you need for your computer to be a computer.

I'd suggest you look up the Beep Code to help you. Sounds like some drivers or HDD issues.

I just found this post because you guys bumped it.

Well... I'm gonna post something useful anyway.

Do not change anything in the BIOS if you don't know what you are doing.

No, . What form are you getting the error in? Click start goto cmd right click and run it as admin. Do chkdsk -f then say yes. Then restart the computer. Let it run the scan!!! It can take a long time! But it will fix most of the problems. Then after that. Open cmd the same way and type sfc /scannow that will fix any system problems. Good luck!!!

1: This is old, and probably is resolved by now.
2: How do you expect him to use chkdisk if he can't even boot into Windows?

where does it say he cant even boot? in that case then just go get your windows disc and boot on it, hit repair, goto cmd, then run the commands from there. if it is malware he could also just run MRT. old or not he needs his computer fixed.

I feel like he's already fixed it, and/or gotten another computer.
