So.. Some bad things have been going on in the mc-war community. Bad things. Very bad things. Mc-war appears to be rotting from the inside as more new players make the experiance worse for everyone. This causes veterans to leave, making it easier for people to be jerks without a shiny golden nameplate telling them to stop. This brings us to our reality
Mc-war needs people to step up

    We need heroes

We can't let our beloved mc-war die, and we can't allow it's death to be on our shoulders. We need people who understand the newbies, to help them through this phase of misunderstanding and pointless arguments. Be polite, be efficient, understand yourself and make them understand that we were all like them before. This is the job of anyone who has played this game longer then the main body. If you see a fight, help the innocent one. If there is no innocent one then try to shutdown the argument with reason. If someone calls hacks politely explain that the person wasn't hacking (they usually aren't) and give them a real reason as evidence. For you clan leaders. You need to make your clan an example, set the bar high, make people excited to play as a team. Allow them to enjoy themselves, roll with the punches of dealing with these people. Train the next wave of players.
The best way to do this is to get off your home server, take a tour, help the backwater servers of eight nine and ten. Look at these people as examples:
@Pikmin_Hunter who has taught us to be quick with our heads and calm under fire
@phantamanta44 who has taught us that even the newest of players can astound us with ingenuity
@mafiaferret who has taught us that sometimes being a hard worker can make something beautiful
@BrawlerAce_ who has taught us that there is no better power then understanding the problem
There are many other heros of this game, we need more of them. We can't allow this server to crumble around our ears. We need to stand up and face these problems as a community.
    And so ends jkzoom's rant
Thank you for reading this, please talk in the comments about this, I want to hear your thoughts not my loud mouth

I agree with everything being said here. I often try to enforce the rules, but without a staff tag no one listens. It seems like brains have been taken away, and in it's place are raging rice spoilt brats.

Rants of good thought are now appearing. This is lovely.
I do agree that the War chat is one of the most chaotic. And the fact that people tend to act good only when a mod is on does not help. So that's why we need those players that regulate late chat, even if they are not mods. And if they ever brush you off and continue on doing something that breaks a rule, just contact a mod. They're always ready to help c:
But I applaud you. Thank you for this.

I thought this was going to be a football pep talk like "LETS GET 'EM" but I do agree with this... If only we could put all the Hero's in 1 clan called HEROS (clan made by admin)

The reason I ever applied for staff was because of this reason. It was an absolute nightmare trying to deal with immature players without having a special tag. The problem has only gotten worse over the year though. The influx of brazen players has reached a staggering amount. Honestly this is to be expected. This is supposed to be based off of Call of Duty after all. At this point, I always try to keep spoiled behavior under control. But I knew from the start, that moderators can only do what they do because of the color, and that is the only way to shut up players.

This was just beautiful... Such a peaceful rant right here. This rant right here... Tells us all in a way that we can talk about it peacefully rather then saying it in a rude way. I feel really special that I'm one of those "hero's". I do my best to keep the server chat clean and try to deal with the players that are being rude. Even if I'm not a mod, I still do my job.
Thank you for this. This was truly amazing.

We need unspoken hero's more than hotshots who are war legends. The new generation of war is taking over. No one can stop this. No one can stop them from being "Noobs". No one can stop them from spamming mod apps after 1 post. No one can do anything without the players listening. Why would they listen to us? Why should they? All we are doing is looking for recognition of some kind. You could even accuse me of that. Not many people can be innocent of this. Those are the people needed to raise the new generation. These people have the power to change the entire mcbrawl community for good. One newer player needs to step up, through the stereotypical new players and rise to greatness. Then, and only then, mcbrawl may return to its past glory.

The biggest problem I have with the Mc-War community at the moment is the fact that it's really just in general a messed up community. While I don't blame this on McBrawl, I do blame this on minecrafts community in general which has spawned more scrubby soup PvP servers in the past month then really ever, essentially the demographic is changing and so will the reactions and the personalities of the players. If there is truly to be a difference made in McBrawl, one of two things need to occur, either a massive change in general regarding the people and attitudes of minecraft, which, we all know isn't gonna happen, or, a simpler idea, just to purge the servers of immature pieces of sh*t, the server, atleast in my eyes, has cancer, and is only spreading faster and faster, in order for a massive change you'd need to manually snip out the problems such as to crack down on the WarZ community, enforce stricter rules regarding some profanity, and actually investigate the ghost of DDoS that haunts WarZ. Hiding it, the problem, will only allow it to grow in secrecy, and when we do go back to look at it, it'll have grown out of control.

I know I've said it before and I'll say it again. You guys are amazing. I wouldn't be so passionate about this if I haddnt seen how much you guys cared about this corner of minecraft.
When I started in this community I was worse then the newbies, I didn't think I was a total noob, I thought I was the greatest mc-war players EVER. And my god did you guys set me straight. I learned quickly to care, and to make friends, and to fix problems hands on. This post is a collective of what you have taught me, put into one place. I cannot thank you enough for teaching me how to be a better human in real life through a single minecraft server. This is why I care so much about mc-war, it has given my attitude on life a kickstart. And people say video games are a waste of time :stuck_out_tongue:

The whole attitude of Minecraft has changed because of the main demographic, which is the whole targeting towards a younger audience. That can only do so much good where players have the liberty to go to any community they want with the Internet ego caused by being anonymous.

A gamemode based around stats, bragging, and borderline pay2win doesn't help the influx of players using their parent's money for games they want. This goes for both War and WarZ.

    Wow.

You should make, like, a scientific study about this phenomenon.

Personally, I feel that Mc-Brawl is one of the best Minecraft communities there are out there. For example, take a look at the Mineplex. A 15000 strong group of newbies, hackers, and bullyboys. (Thats why I stopped playing there.) Mc-Brawl, instead, appeared to me as a group of teammates, friends, and helpers.

Not only did that sound like a prophecy. AlexMc864, I haven't really experienced Mc-Brawl in "its past glory" ... so I'm just another ignorant "Noob".

    So did I!

I'm probably why War chat is so messed up. I'll try to stop solving my personal issues there.
Help the innocent one. Amen, brotha'.

All in all, what I'm trying to say is, I don't really feel the same way that all you old-geezers do. Maybe its cause I haven't played War for a long time.

If I'm part of the problem, I'm sorry. I'll try to change.

    Have a nice day.

When someone in chat is flaming, the best thing to do is kindly ask them to stop and if they don't, you just ignore them and get a moderator. Giving people attention while they're acting like that will only make them want to do more.

Minecraft all together has changed, new waves of players join every day and not all are mature. It IS a children game that anyone can play so we have to predict children joining.

Back in the older days of mc-war, hardly anyone raged, people didn't accuse of hackers much, players where happy. But as war got bigger, more and more players joined, pushing the mature players out and immature players over populated the servers.

simply giving moderators the ability to /mute someone instead of kicking them would help. Sure it'd help a little bit, but that's a little bit we didn't have before.

I'll voice my opinion if you ask me a question.

    Oh my...
This is much more of a response then I was expecting!
This is probably the best revived work I have ever created on this forum, I'm glad we all have our separate thoughts and feelings on the situation but we can all see the problem at hand
Now all we have to do is get back in there (I'm talking to you @ZapCrusher) and fix these problems with our experience not our loud mouths. 'Speak little but make every word count' is what we should be thinking. Enjoy mc-war to it's fullest, but try to leave every server better then you found it. I think you'll find yourself enjoying the game more the more you help others.

I think we all should be nice to the newer players, even if they are being huge jerks. If they are flaming, try to calm them down. If they think they are pros, just be nice, but tell them there are people who have been around a lot longer, and they will need a little bit of time to get to the higher levels. If hey ask a question, tell them the answer, maybe give them tips, tell them about the forums and wiki. If you don't have a large killstreak, maybe give them a free kill. That means a lot to newer players, it did when I was a newb. The first 5 levels have the prefix pvt, pv2, PFC, spc and cpl, or the clan prefix. That will help the community, lead a good example.

It would make the chat a lot cleaner if we had our old anti-caps plugin back. Also remember that you can do /war chat if you don't want to see the chat. Otherwise just call on a mod.
