Character limit when you reply

    I once replied a long post but I couldn't write much because it was at the limit.
    Please change when you reply the character limit is normal and it doesn't apply with the post you reply

    The reason why we have a character limit is to prevent an extremely long, spam post. Besides, the current character limit is already very high. How large of a post did you try to make? :confused:

    i mean if you need to write something long thats fine but if its spam just . . . no but i don't see a reason to put a character limit when you can just ban spammers

    If you reached the character limit, then sucks for you.
    The character limit is huge; if you reached the limit then it's probably going to be a spam post. No one wants to read an uber long post.
    The only character limit I dislike is the limit when updating your status or when posting/replying on a profile. It's apparently 420 characters but it really seems like less than 250.

    There shouldn't be a limit for replying to threads...
    The only limit that I know is your status and you profile name.

    No. Someone's post was veeeery long and I replied but I couldn't write much as a reply

    Including when people waste space with their space bar
