Idea Is it possible to stop a hacked client connecting to a server :o?

    I know nothing about this, so its pretty much aimed @Mario since he's a coder but, would it be possible for the server to scan your jar file for a packet that says..."X-ray.java" or "mods" or "hacks" And pretty much the generic names that most hacked client creators use. And if it does kick them from the server.

    Or would it just be able to scan you're jar for any packets that aren't in default minecraft, and allow the packets that come with allowed mods, like optifine.

    Obviously this would be easily by passable by simply changing the packet in the hacked client to the name of a optifine one, but it would stop the majority, as most hackers are 9 years old.

    This is probably retarded, i have no knowledge on the subject.

    I guess you could do things similar to this method but it's very easy to bypass.

    I don't believe Mojang enabled servers to search files on others computers like such. It might be something to do with security reasons that this is disabled. Much like when server-textures were disabled for a period of time because you could send malicious files to another ones computer.

    Servers function completely off of plugins. If Mario wanted to implement something like this, it would be a plugin. In the 3rd bullet note, it says that plugins can't check if a player has a hack installed. Therefore, this isn't possible.

    No, you could use an alternative launcher (Spootcraft), but that would suck ass
