Whenever you'd join our forums, you'd have to wait 1 month till you apply - that's a reasonable amount.
    Because....
-I have never seen someone get accepted that's been here for 2-3 weeks.
-It's long enough to tell people about applying.
-Nobody can get to 300+ posts w/o spamming in 2 w-ks..
    -Balanced solution.

Been suggested before, but I would really want this. The new players have no idea what they are getting into.

As Buddy stated, I would change the time from 2 weeks to 1-2 months. Other than that, this is a fantastic idea. It would give players time to get a feel for the forums and see how they work. It would also give them time to build up a reputation.

No way, not two weeks. :v
It needs to be at least one or two months. Same thing after the player is done applying.
This would give them MORE than enough time to get active in game, on TeamSpeak, and on the forums.

    2 Weeks.
That is most certainly too early for one to become moderator. If your just talking about the forums they'd still have to be active on TeamSpeak Aswell. 2 weeks is too short for staff & players to see if the player has what it takes to become moderator. It takes the player a while to get active and know what he/she is doing.

There are problems that I see with this idea. Say someone joins the forums and realizes they can not make an application. So they come back after the time restriction is up, meanwhile hardly posting any worthy content, and start an application thread that I assume you do not want to see. The whole time restriction then becomes moot. Since, I guarantee people will simply wait until they can and start the application process.
Or the what if a well known, liked, teamspeak participator comes to the forums posts some good quality and then applies early. Are they really going to exclude this worthy candidate when they clearly have a greater chance than most at this point. Remember a handful of moderators have been hired with less than 300 posts.

I don't get why people get so annoyed by new member apps they just make me laugh if I waste my time reading them.

If you can offer a better option, go ahead.

Sucks for them, they won't be accepted.
If they post good quality posts, they should still be dedicated enough in 1 month, and thus they can apply then.

Not worrying about it. Staff and a good deal of the community know which ones will go far. People have to read, listen, and apply what they learn to make an acceptable application. If they do not heed the warnings that are clearly in front of them, then they will be denied plain and simple.

Why should we restrict it? If they want to rush into the application we'll just toss it to denied.

That might make them confused because they mixed members and mod as credo shows in the screenie, and don't understand why they got denied. This would make the "staff application" section less spammed aswell.

How about we add a one month restriction before you can apply again after you get denied? I think this is a better idea since members won't be able to spam apps within a short time period.
