Hello everyone. As you all know, when negative ratings were removed, Chickenputty implemented a new rating: the confusing rating. Now, as far as I know, this idea was actually suggested once by Romkelolol back in July. Back then, it was received positively. However, it was only added very recently, and without warning. My question to you all is, should the confusing rating stay, or go? Right now, I am on the fence. I don't know whether it should stay or not. However, I know that there are people who would like to see it stay, and there are people that would like to see it go. I will list some of the pros and cons I see with the rating.

    Pros:

It's a new rating! It adds more variety to the forums.

It can be used in situations that other ratings wouldn't be able to be used in. For example: "if the content is unclear or hard to understand due to the wording." (Credit to Chickenputty for this description.)

    Cons:

The rating can be easily abused as seen in many instances already.

The rating seems to have a negative tone to it regardless of it being a neutral rating. Negative ratings having been removed, it provokes the question: should it be removed?

I would have agreed to this before. However, its usage has gone down sharply ever since the bans from spamming the rating. So it doesn't seem bad. However, it does have a negative connotation.

Don't forget that the disagree and late ratings are also neutral ratings, which have been abused in the past before. It wouldn't make sense to remove the confused rating since disagree and late have a similar connotation.

I'd rather have there be confusing ratings then as before, pointless ratings but just simply, a disagree rating. That would mean you would not rate everything pointless but maybe just confusing. There will always be issues with people spamming you will disagreeable ratings. Just my opinion.

I like the rating, it helps forum users to realize if one of their posts is confusing. (Not to state the obvious)

I personally like it, it helps show the poster that they should make their post clearer.
However, many people use it in situations like this: https://www.brawl.com/threads/25034/
Obviously Marius is of a foreign speaking language and his English skills are not all that great. He is being spammed with confusing ratings even though he just does not know the language very well.

The best thing about this new rating is it does not have that air of negativity. I see this rating on a post, so I reread it to see if I can figure the message out and get something useful out of it.

I like it because it shows the poster that his post wasn't understood properly. It isnt used as a negative rating kind of thing anymore either because of the new ban policy here on the forums ^_^
