    Hey McBrawl! I have a new idea for the forums! It's a new rank called: Application Reviewer.

    What is this rank?

    The rank is pretty simple. It's a rank only available to non-staff members and would allow them to comment on Staff Applications.

    How would you get it?

    This is also pretty simple. You could only apply for this rank if you have 500 or more messages, to show you are an experienced forums member. You would apply either on a Google Document, or on a new section of the forums. If the latter is chosen, you should only be able to post a thread with 500 or more messages.

    What is the point of this?

    This rank would be to give the community a better representation in the staff application process. This way, the community could show how they feel about applicants. Also, the applicant would be able to get more constructive critism about their application, which would allow them to make better applications in the future, should they get denied.

    How would one know if they are accepted to get this rank?

    Similar to the Wiki Editor tag besides your name, there would be a Green Tab under your name called "Application Reviewer".


    Please note, the rank can be revoked at a moments notice if they begin to act like Tac42 and act rude towards new applications. This rank would only be for mature users with exceptional grammar in order to help the applicants the most possible.

    I like this idea, but you shouldn't get anything special like a tag just because you can review apps.

    But it would 1. Allow people to know if they got accepted and 2. Similar to Wiki Editor, there would be a list of people who can review applications.

    I think they should add this, it would be a good idea. But maybe 300 posts instead; just like the minimum for moderator.

    Alright. But I want it to be for really, really dedicated members. It's a lot easier to spam 300 messages than 500. 400 instead maybe? This just needs to be a rank for the dedicated members.

    I like this idea, and I do think they should have a tag under their name. Not sure if it should be "Application Reviewer", but something similar.
    Why would they not have a tag? It's the same as 'Wiki Team'.

    The ability to review apps is an extra privilege. It's not like a wiki editor, where the tag is useful since you can identify who you can bring your wiki problems to. Since you don't know who is going to reply on an app, it wouldn't make sense to give them a tag.

    Hmm, good point. Do you think there should be any way to differentiate between the regular players and these reviewers? It would allow the applicants to ask reviewers what they think.

    I see what you're saying. Is this because you would be a great reviewer, and you'd like to be a reviewer, but you just don't want a tag?
    There's a somewhat unspoken rule to never ask someone to look at your application, staff or not.

    No, but the applicant can ask a mod+ (there are many staff members) what they think of their app.

    There's no point in giving them anything extra special. Since the wiki is constantly changing, new members need to know who to bring their wiki concerns to. Plus, mods are more busy and have less time on their hand than wiki editors, so it would make sense to direct wiki problems at wiki editors.

    With staff applications, it's a different story. Mods are expected to give constructive criticism on staff apps. Plus, I'm sure that a new member would trust a mod's opinion over a non staff member. It would make sense to direct your concerns to a mod, so no point in a tag as applicants always ask staff members for their critique. The ability to review apps is an extra privilege, basically allows you to give an extra opinion on the applicant.

    To be honest, I wouldn't apply for this privilege as I have no real motivation to judge staff apps. I just think there's no reason to throw in some unnecessary, special rank.

    AV
    Reviewer

    This rank would need to be given to someone who is experienced in all fields of becoming moderator(ingame, forums, ts). Why? Because we need players who can actually judge players performance on ts and in-game. Anyone can determine forum activity and get 500 messages.

    A tag for these permissions is not really needed for the reason I state above.

    Good point. There are however, many players active on those fields, who just don't want to apply. This was me for a time, as I was active on forums, teamspeak, and Ingame. I'm sure there are people who fit this description, however.

    Somehow I feel others would bribe their friend that have this rank to give the application good comments for a better shot.
