Wouldn't it be great to be able to easily contact a moderator for help? Have you ever been forced to search the servers, seeking help from a moderator, when there is that one guy who continues to break the rules? Isn't it a pain? Personally, I think it could be far easier to contact a moderator for help. As I was thinking on this issue, I came up with a simple idea that would enable players to easily contact moderators for help.

What I am proposing are two new commands that could be coded: /callmod and /modgo. /callmod would be available to all players to use at any time, while /modgo would only be available to the staff. /callmod would be formatted /callmod [reason]. Players would use this command in the case that they need help from a moderator. When used, this command would send out a message (in the same manner as a /tell message) to all online moderators of the server that the player was on when he or she used /callmod. After reading the message, the moderators would have the option of using /modgo to join the server of the player that needed help.

Example: A player on mc-war sees another player being extremely disrespectful to other players, and spamming the chat with insults. The player types: "/callmod Xx_RandomSpammer_xX is being extremely rude. He needs to be dealt with by a moderator." The message goes out to all online war moderators. If there are none online, then it goes to all online global mods of other servers. (If there are no global mods online, then is goes to all online super mods etc etc etc.) The war mods receive a private message in the chat stating the reason, and the sender's name. Those that are not currently busy type /modgo and join the server of the player that asked for help and thus are able to quickly and effectively handle the situation.

If there are multiple messages pending, moderators could type /modgo [number of request] similar to the fpsHG team commands. It would also be convenient if the mods were alerted if another mod already accepted the message, thus preventing multiple mods attempting to handle a situation that was already handled. To prevent spammers, there would have to be some sort of waiting period in between uses of /callmod. How does a one minute cool-down sound?

Do you guys think this is a good idea? Tell me what you think by commenting. And don't forget to vote on the poll!

I would love to see this implemented, the only flaw I see with it is that some players night abuse the command for unneeded attention.

I feel that there could be a cool-down for this command. If need be they could PM a MOD if they're cool-down has not yet expired?

I agree that might be an issue. That is why it is optional to accept the request if it is spam or blank. If they continue to abuse it, that would warrant a warning.

Eh, it seems that players could spam this easily (even if they would be punished, it'd still be annoying. If you already covered this somewhere, I might have skipped it. Sorry if this is true).

Maybe you could use ./callmod to list all the available moderators for your server into the chat? Moderators for your server would be Purple, Global Moderators would be Pink, and trial mods that are for another server would have a white name.

For example, if I did ./callmod while on war, this would happen:

    ./callmod

    Available moderators: Scoat2 (Creative [server #]) , King_Daan (fpsHG #4) , booflame (fpsHG #6)

I like that, and you could message a member of staff of your choice. This would save coding on the /callmod command.

Still needs improvement, however. We're getting somewhere though.

What if there was a one minute cooldown? For instance, they would have to wait one minute before using /callmod again?

I mentioned this above. But I see no need that I've seen other replies. I'm pretty sure there is no need for that /callmod command, whereas implementing a /modlist command that displays all available mods - only in-game ones, otherwise it could display AFK ones - would be more efficient. As you could PM a member of staff of your choice.

Don't you have to first friend a staff member before messaging them?

Yes, but this could be the command. I guess. You could do /modlist - furthermore adding another command /modmsg [username of staff] [message], and then we wouldn't have the issue of implementing a way of messaging without friending?

I do like this, but the use of a single command appeals to me. I think it would be more simple for your average newbie on our servers. Plus, I like the idea of a single message that goes out to all the staff. But anyways, I guess I'll just see how this thread goes. If this version isn't accepted, I might make another thread with a similar idea.

    Hmmmm...

    Maybe - Just Maybe...

We could have /callmod as your original post mentioned, but it sends the message 4 times, all in a row - so you can't miss it. That way, you'll get at least one response, and your problem is sorted. We could have a 1 minute cooldown, because if it is sent 4 times, then you can't really miss it. And there is usually several mods on at every one time. So you'll always get a response?

We're definitely getting somewhere now!

Random, I love the idea. Another masterpiece by you!

And did anyone scroll down from the main thread and see chickenputty's profile picture, and see the post saying 'great idea I hope this is added!'?

I was confused to say the least.

There should be a 10 second cooldown time. Also, moderators should be able to "mute" players spamming the command, either with /mute or with a new command.

Indeed. If this is spammed that could be really annoying.

Just make a seperate list for Mods like /Modlist which shows online Mods. Then you could just /msg them even tough they arent in your friend list.

You could abuse it, or you just think the guy hacks and call a mod for no reason.
