Uncensor a few things

These all could be potentially used to hurt members of the community, especially the first two. I have seen so many people in the chat get angry and say racist and horrible things to others, and the first two are included. You have to remember, not everyone in this community is as old as most of us, and we're trying to accommodate for every type of player, including the younger ones.

 

1.) If we uncensor "Niger", players would immediately use this as a insult again. I don't believe there are too many players from Nigeria, so we can handle that they can't say the name of their country.
2.) This has been discussed somewhere already and gay IS often used as a insult.
3.) I think we could uncensor Chink, I never saw someone using it as a insult.

The only one I see possibly getting uncensored is number three. Number one was explained above, and number two is censored because players use gay as a derogatory term with other words. Examples: GAY F**, f***ing gay iso noobs, wow your gay, etc.

 

Alternatively the word "Nigeria" could be put on the whitelist for censored words

I personally think people that say niger as an insult need a grammar check, because it's promounced nye-jer, not nigg-er.

 

So nigerian is offensive to younger people? how is that possible? I get that people can say something like 'stupid nigerian' and i do understand that that is offensive, but I have NEVER EVER seen someone use that.

also, if these words could in fact be potentially used to 'hurt' members, then we could just censor every single word because it could be used offensivly :V People can make words offensive in any way they want.

Some words should be/stay censored such as the usual sh**, f*** and ****** should be warned for or looked at if it is ment offensive. with this I mean: if for instance someone says; your my ****** (ment friendly), then it can be used. but if it is used offensivly, then censor it (obviously)

as for the word schinken. THE HELL !? Why censor that?! it is like you censor the word because it contains chink. but just as the word ******. I have never ever seen this word being used offensivly.

That is true. but some 'younger kids' really don't know the definition of these words. I had that with some curse words. Some younger people just think that it is a fun word, not used offensivly. but i can deffinetly see what you mean.

 

The only thing is, if for example they start using it for some reason, they will just get themselves into trouble both in real life and on the servers which is also unnecessary.

 

I agree, I mean even sometimes when I want to type common words used in sentences are censored :/

You're not the center of the world.
Everyone is equally considered; a good server group doesn't favor 15+ players because they can handle swear words. A lot of people are younger gamers, and like 80+ percent of players ARE 9-13.

 

must agree with that, and even I usually recommend this server to the kids in my school. so there is quite a lot of younger players.
