    I am currently on Windows 8 and am looking for a good free video editor for YouTube. All the ones that I have tried to download / install have tried to put some sort of minor virus on my pc or installed some crappy search engine into google chrome. Please leave ideas for legit good free (or cheaper) video editors good for YouTube, or that you guys use.

    Windows Live Movie Maker. It is very basic but it works.

    Make sure to always download editors from their main websites. Movie maker is basic, but it does it's job. You can download it here.

    If he is using Windows of any version, he would have Windows Live Movie Maker.

    My laptop didn't come with it, and it was a windows.
