    Hello, Endercow here.
I thought of an idea to save the time of moderators, and maybe other staff who reply to moderator applications.

Maybe there can be a requirment to have confirmed that you are worthy of being a moderator, so 80% of applications will not be bad, no detail applications. Eg:
    https://www.brawl.com/threads/31407/
*please note this was a denied app, and am. It trying to start a flame war*

Maybe you will have to contact an admin like the staff admin, Signatured.
While contacting him to be allowed to create a moderator application, you will have to:
    1. Explain why you would like to be a moderator
    2. How active are you on all fields, team speak, forums, and Ingame (On a scale of 1-10)
    3. What server are you applying for?
    4. How many posts do you have?
These few questions will have to be answered in detail, roughly 150 words. This will prove whether or not you will even be a person who writes with detail, and a long moderator application. This way, moderators do not have to write long paragraphs explaining to someone how to write a good application, and links for help.

Also, these requests or confirms must be accepted to write a solid moderator application before the interview.

    Stages:
    Confirmed
    Application
    Interview
    Trial moderator
    Global moderator

Hope this idea may be accepted, and change/save time for people.

I just simply think that if the player is active and fits the requirements, they could use the idea from @GreenPeas_:
Get interviewed without applying, if you are outstanding and mature member, of course.

This is basically applying for mod; creates unnecessary work for the admins and spams their inbox. :I

    Yup, I agree.

@Endercow_3 - you stated that your idea would help save the staff member's time. I personally think this would waste their time even more, the higher-ups would have to sort through the player's "pre-application" and then their actual application. The combination of a these two things would most likely cause more confusion and spam for the staff. I'm sorry, but I do not like this idea.

tl;dr - it would become a hassle to apply for moderator; for both the players and staff.

Why not make it 100+ messages to apply for mod? That would stop people joining the forums and posting a 1 word answer app the very same day. Most of them can hardly tell you what a forum is. If you have 100+ messages, you are decently familiar with the community.

All they basicly need to do is look through it in 5 seconds, looking at the length. Normally, people with decent length will have a good application.

More like 3 minutes. 3*5 is 15 minutes straight down the sink. This wouldn't work very well as you are basicly appliyng to apply ;V

Future state should include a template / checklist to insure you meet all the criteria before applying. It should be completed at the beginning so people know if they qualify or not.

This will save a lot of time and is more quantifiable.

I'll send you Mods my bill for $150 for process improvement work.
