I don't know if this has been suggested before, but I hope I'd have some more detail added into it.

DDoS threats. Countless people have been banned for it, countless people have been the victims of it. However, I recently found out that a DDoS threat is a 7 day ban, according to Mario. It shouldn't be that way. It should be a permanent ban from the Brawl. You would also not be able to purchase an unban if you were banned for this reason. The only way you should be able to be unbanned for DDoS threats is by appealing on the forums, basically proving that you've matured and want a second chance. The only donating/money decrease you would receive is the players that are banned for DDoS, which most of them aren't. If it were me, I'd care more about the community and if players have changed or not rather than give them a free pass because they had payed. That's basically bribing. Remember what I'm saying here, you'd still be able to purchase an unban for anything else but DDoS threats. Why? Hacking doesn't do any harm to you, and you can easily record and report. But if someone threatens to DDoS you, they can easily cover it up. That happened in this video, and one of the admins even said that's not enough proof to get him/her banned.

In case you don't know what DDoS is:
    1. Distributed Denial of Service Attack (DDoS) Definition. A denial of service (DoS) attack is a malicious attempt to make a server or a network resource unavailable to users, usually by temporarily interrupting or suspending the services of a host connected to the Internet.

Sure, sometimes the player will just threaten to DDoS you, and not actually do it, in other words, bluffing. But this should still be bannable. If you're not as experienced as some players (like @jakob112), you might do what they ask of you, or else you're at risk of being DDoSed. In jakob's case, it was to give Jimsagamer a ./tpa, but he declined, and resulted in actually being DDoSed.

    Leave your thoughts below.

As long as they consider the appeals. I completely agree, they are just as bad as hackers, and should get a punishment. Yes, just yes.

    I completely agree.

Although, it used to be like this. At one point, DDoS threats were bannable, whether they were a joke or not. There must have been something that happened in order for this rule to change, something huge. DDoS is serious, it's not a joke and it is illegal.

tl;dr - Old rule, changed; something big must have happened in order to have it changed.

I think that if they get banned for DDoS (not just a threat), they shouldn't be able to purchase an unban. Our community shouldn't have criminals that can just buy their way back in and potentially threaten and/or DDoS more players.

The thing is, this idea would only stop threats. There's nothing you can do if they decide to DDoS you if they have your IP other than try and protect yourself.

Anyways, DDoS should not even be joked about, because it is illegal. Basicly like banning them in a way.

I completely agree about this change, ddos is ileagal irl and could be punished in jail, the first ddos ever was like 10m$ of damage or something, and hackers nor ddosers should get unbans.

Agreed. This is a problem that can't be tolerated. Especially if they mean it.

I agree with the suggestion of making it a Permanent Ban.

    You forgot to mention this:

DDoS attacks may be subject to civil and criminal liability, including fine and imprisonment, under state and federal law. For example, a denial-of-service attack may constitute a federal criminal offense under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, a trespass to chattel, or a breach of contract if it violates a website owner's or internet service provider's terms of use.

In case, if you didn't understand means that if you are DOS'sing then you are breaking the law.
Not to mention that if people find your skype and go to a website with ads to dos people for a price then you can find their ip.
I hope you guys have a VPN...
