[Mod] Staff Interviews #13 randomcitizen1 ~ Q&A not Interview

Hey guys Blamo here for another staff interview! today we have @randomcitizen1 ! Before we start I would like to say one thing, In the convo I made to do the questions in, the origional name of it was Staff Interview, several comments down random asked me to change the name for this reason. "Also, the title of this convo scares me. I hated the actual staff interview." I just love this Q&A for that reason. Ok now for the real deal!


1. Where and when did you find McBrawl?
I found the server (at the time called multiplayerservers :V) in the Spring of 2013 thanks to my friend, @Nabulous5. He was playing McWar, and invited me to do so as well. I have playing on Brawl ever since.


2. Where did you get your username?
I got my username a long time ago, before I even got Minecraft. That being said, Minecraft was the first thing I used the username "Randomcitizen" for. Contrary to popular speculation, I did not get my name from the Movie "Megamind." I jokingly made up a character named Randomcitizen Randomcitison up as my fictional alter ego with a friend who possessed an equally (if not more) humorous alter ego. :V

3. What's one thing you would change or improve about McBrawl?
I actually have two things. :V

A. The way the community views that staff team.
I'm really not sure if I can change this, but I would really like to. We aren't devious little half-devils sitting behind computers trying to make things worse and get you guys in trouble. We honestly do what we do to try to make the community and McBrawl as a whole better. Most of us are un-paid, and we do this job because we want the best for you guys.

B. Certain parts of the staff protocol.
Everything always has room for improvement, the staff's protocol is no exception, especially with all the changes that are coming up.


4. How random of a citizen are you?
Well, when I'm in public, and I have to behave myself, I'm only moderately random. If you put me in a private conversation with a couple of scrubs, I'm as random as it gets m8. :V

5. Could you pleas explain in depth what you think Brawler meant when he called you a schizophrenic scrub?
Unfortunately, he was joking. ;-; He actually didn't call me a schizophrenic scrub at first, that came later. What happened was as follows. Brawler and I were having our usual friendly banter session on some poor scrub's profile. At some point, he jokingly insulted my ability to read or understand what he was typing to which I replied "So, wait. Am I schizophrenic or illiterate?" He replied "both." This lead to my original title which was "Both schizophrenic and illiterate according to BrawlerAce_." A while later, in a convo with him, Brawler encouraged me to apply for mod saying "go for it schizophrenic scrub." That is where my second title came in. Unfortunately, he was joking that time too. ;-;

6. While doing you job what do you find to be most difficult?
The most difficult part of my job in my opinion are times when I am in-game being bombarded with questions while I am trying to warn or punish rule-breakers. The chat can really get going sometimes, and I can hardly keep up.

7. What motivated you to become part o the staff?
I wanted to make a bigger impact on the community. I loved this community from day one, and I wanted to go beyond what I could do as a normal member.

8. Have you moderated another servers and if yes how is this diferent, is it better? More fun?
Yes, I have administrated one other server. To quote from my staff app:

...After a while spent serving on the server, I became an Administrative Operator... Now, this also marked the point where my job became exceedingly difficult. At the time, some issues arose between the owner of the server, and other staff members. I oftentimes had to act as a mediator between the staff and the owner himself. As you can imagine, these instances forced me to endure a considerable amount of stress...To add to my list of troubles, the owner himself had grown "trollish" to the point of becoming somewhat abusive. Although generally a good fellow, he oftentimes went too far in his actions. Thus, I also was left to deal with the havoc that he all too often wrecked upon the players...

...All in all, I made a lot of memories, and had a lot of great times on that server, even during the difficult times. I am immeasurably grateful that I played on it, as I believe it has equipped me with the skills necessary to handle a staff position on this server.

It was a really fun server, but what I had to go through sometimes sucked really badly. :V McBrawl is far more fun because I don't have as many responsibilities as I did previously, and so far, I have not had to undergo any highly stressful situations.

9. What was the most stressfull part of becoming a mod?
(Imagine the following three words bolded and in caps.) The mod interview.
That was awful. The morning of the day of the interview I drank coffee. Now, apparently, I had recently developed some sort of an allergic reaction to coffee , but I didn't know that then. I was plagued with uncontrollable shaking and anxiety the entire day, including during the interview.


10. When you first join McBrawl who were your first friends?
Crazybombguy has been my friend from the beginning. And I mean the very beginning. We did everything together.

Crazy's friend @Nabulous5 was the scroob who showed me the server. Me and Crazy quickly surpassed his level in War. :V

@lillyluke Was the first Iso pro I met on War. Still somewhat active today on both War and fpsHG. Say hi to him if you see him on the server.

@qwerty(randomnumbers) lilly's clan-mate in the old War clan QS. We were friendly rivals always trying to out-iso each other. I haven't seen him in forever. He went inactive around a year ago.

@Ap11e or @Apple something. His name was some variant of apple. Also an Iso pro and the third member of the QS squad along with lilly and qwerty. I'm not sure if he still plays War. He could be this guy, but I'm not sure. I could never get his name right.

11. Anything else?

I have no life during school, during the boring classes I hop on my iPad and type some questions up. Or if I have any free time. I also do these for you guys and for me, it's always fun to really know in depth about our wonderful staff.

 

I'm planning to do a specal one if I can contact the person, it's a secret though.
