Since maps hardly work, Adding a dynmap would be so good, and you could put a command in chat to dissapear on it, or you can show yourself to others, But by default you would be invisible on the ynmap until you change it?

Explain with a bit more detail, I got lost when you said something about making yourself "disappear".

A dynmap is a map on the website, and in my opinion this would be insanely useful. I always get lost using the current map, and with dynmap you can see other players and structures. Commands like /dynmap show show your player on the map, while /dynmap hide take you off.

Major +1 from me, because another server that had DayZ in MC had it and it was very, very useful.

I really like the idea of DynMap. Sometimes the maps can get very confusing. A +1 from me. But I think that the disappear and appear thing may not be possible. You would have to do HTML5 editing as well as totally change the coding and at the same time need permission from the makers. But overall, very nice idea.

Its possible, it just means hiding yourself on the map.

We used Dynmap when building the current WarZ map; I'm not sure why we haven't implemented something like this yet :v

Or, even better, take advantage of Dynmap's open source code and add some functionality for hiding players yourself. Probably easier than HTML5.

Sounds like a way to prey on noobs who do not know the command. If you want people to come to you, can't you yell your coordinates in chat?

He suggested player locations should be disabled until you enable it.

Player could still trick others into enabling it, though.

What if it was a blatant command that actually told the player what they were doing?
    For example:

Player types /enable Dynmap to enable it for himself and to appear on other player's Dynmap.
Then console messages player: Beware! You have now enabled the Dynmap. All players may also see you on their Dynmap. Type /disable Dynmap to disable it and disappear from other player's Dynmaps.

That's just an example, the console message could be anything along those lines.

There could also be a broadcast message in chat every few minutes telling players about the Dynmap.

Overall, I think it's a great idea. If you don't want to fight, you can have it off, and if you're looking for some action, you can have it on. It's the perfect setup.

I've played on a server before where players were always hidden, so it was basically just a useful map. I don't think players should be visible because they aren't visible on the map we currently use (if it worked, that is). However, I like the idea of a dynmap with no players on it because then it would be a useful map.

    Server Ideas can't be gravedug.

However, this does not only suggest adding a Dynamic Map, it also suggests a command to hide and show players on this map.

This would have no point, they want it to be a challenge fro you to find the differemt parts of the map...it would be easier if you can see your dot moving to the place you want...I think compasses are better in my opinion

I know where I am going, It's just for new players that don't know the way around the map, no need to be rude
