This. Simply speaking, I feel like this thread should finally be updated and revamped so that applicants could get more of an idea for their application. While there is indeed a thread by Signatured, where the majority of things are explained, I feel like a thread with rules and regulations should be pinned as well or added onto Signatured's thread. Heck, you could talk to Pea about it, and maybe convince him to update it.

Who's going to search for a 2013 thread in the off topic section? No one...

People who care and are willing to take time out of their day to try and help others. Or someone who remembered something and went looking for it.

Yeah, I doubt that's anyone here who's going to refer someone to that thread when they can refer the person to Sig's thread.

Or people who had a sudden vision about looking up in the search bar: " staff application rules "

I like the detective work...remind me to never get on your bad side. I like relentless people.

The idea is a great one, everyone likes real time feedback.

I believe Signatured's thread does a good job at explaining the applications. The staff team will never release an exact guide on how to get moderator, nor exact things we look for before denying an application. I don't feel like there is a need to walk anyone through on how to behave and act to become moderator. And if someone cannot figure out how to make a thread, they should not be applying.

Plus, we have no exact rules regarding post amounts, age requirements, or poll approval. So, I'm not sure what you are looking for in another guide.

I think feedback is what is needed. This maybe difficult to provide but is seen as valuable to applicants.

I do not think we need a guide. I just wish we had a more "predictable" way of being able to tell how our application was doing. It is nerve racking waiting for "X" amount of time before we finally get a response on our application. And I used the variable X because no one knows how long it could take. I just wish, for the applicants sake, we could have some sort of timeline to follow so that we could tell how we were doing, or even better, when we will get our final result.

Perhaps for transparency sake the applications should be evaluated within 5 days? Versus the unknown time line.

If the staff or Mods meet weekly this should be on the agenda. Then, applications would receive faster feedback thus addressing the need for applicants to have timely feedback.

Agile or Scrum type software development project management uses quick daily huddles to address issue systematically and timely. A weekly meeting could be used to address these issues.

Yes please. The anxiety after posting a moderator application is over the roof, we need a certain time were we know our application will be judged
