    Does anyone know how to acquire recording software for an iPad Mini, or other mobile iOS devices?

    Or you can connect a part of the screen of the device and record it on your computer.

    If you have iOS 8 on your iDevice and and own an Apple brand computer, you can use Screenflow to record from your device to your computer.

    There are different apps you can download (although I believe most are from online, not the app store) that allow you to record the screen on your ios device

    You're right. Few are non-jailbreak.

    You pay for the app in the App Store.
    As of the non-jailbreak apps, they are either timed or you can only browse.

    I would recommend getting an Idaho russet potato. It's widely used for recording lousy Clash of Clans let's plays, due to its simple design, low image-quality cost, and its long battery life.
