    Media points change suggestion.

    As you might know, in the media section comments, likes and views make out how popular / trending a video is. They all have there own 'weight' / amount of points. A video receives points wenever it gets comments, likes and views. A comment counts for 100 points, a like for 10 points and a view for 1 point. Now here's the thing. If you look in the right-bottum corner of the video section it says the total amount of all these things. And comments are twice as much given as likes. So, since comments give more points than likes I think it would be better if those 2 got switched. This would make it more balanced.
    But, we can even go furthur. If you look good you can see these statistics:
    Around 1000 comments.
    Around 500 likes.
    Around 25000 views.
    This means that the best ballance would be:
    1 like = 50 points
    1 comment = 25 points
    1 view = 1 point
    This can change as long as 1 comment gives 25 times more points than a view and 1 like gives 50 times more poins than a view.

    Tell me what you think about this.

    This would be a great idea, but what if someone starts a flame war in the comments. Then the person is getting alot of points due to the fact that there is alot of comments going through.

    Good idea, just needs some tweaking with the potential spam in the comments. Or a person could create alts and comments for points.

    If a flame war starts then staff will remove those comments, therefore taking away the points.

    I like this idea, and I'd like to propose another idea as well. Right now videos aren't getting many likes as they could, and I think that's because some people(who might be new to the site) don't know where the like button is, or just don't see it at first. My idea is to make the like button stand out more, i.e. Change the color, move it, or make a little graphic for it, like a thumbs up.
    Also I think the media section in general should be more accessible. I don't know how. But I just don't find myself clicking on the media tab that often. I'd be interested to hear ideas.

    About how about a popup that comes up. Like, the first time you join the forums you get a banner saying that you should read the rules. I think it should be the same for the media section.
