MineStrike Tips 'n Tricks​

Attention! Those tips are my personal opinion on how to play Minestrike successful, means how to get many kills and win. Those tips are not supposed to be fair towards your enemies. If you disagree with any tactics, feel free to explain in the comments why you don't think the tactic helps.

Abbreviations
OSHS-Gun | Oneshot-Headshot gun (gun that will kill a fully armored enemy with a single shot in the head)
AW | Approach way (path the enemies will normally use to attack your team)
DE | Demolition (the gamemode)
HR | Hostage Rescue (the gamemode)


TACTIC

1. Overall, sneaking and camping is the best tactic in minestrike. If you rush into a room and someone with a decent gun is waiting for you, you will almost always die. Sometimes rushing is better because you gain more kills, but if you want to survive and win, sneak all the time and don't move too much.
2. At the beginning of the game, don't spend much time buying equipment, start running immediately (use the sword for speed) and get to a good spot fast.
3. If you are not sure whether there is a enemy around the next corner or not, run until you are 1 block away from the corner and sneak. Most likely the enemy will start shooting because he saw you come close and thought you would run around the corner in a second.
4. Always keep an eye on the nametags of enemy players and memorize where they are on the map approximately. If a nametag disappears (player started sneaking), make sure to memorize where that enemy was and be very careful when you get close to his location.
5. This is not really a tip, but know all maps well and especially know good locations to camp. A good location should have cover, one or two AWs and you should be able to shoot the approaching enemies while they are lined up behind eachother.
6. If you are using one of those camping spots, sneak behind the cover, let the enemies come close until they are about 5 to 10 blocks away. Then jump out and shoot at their heads with an OSHS-Gun. Kill all the enemies lined up behind eachother, get back behind the cover immediately afterwards.
7. When attacking enemies, try to be on the exact same altitude, otherwise you might not be able to get clean headshots. The higher the altitude difference they lower the chance of a headshot.
8. If possible, attack enemies when they can't move to the sides, only forward and backward. Vice versa, rushing a open place with a lot of cover is way easier than rushing through a small path.
9. Do not camp right behind a corner. Stay away about 5 to 20 blocks, but make sure you aim at the corner and have a clear field of fire. The advantage of this tactic is that you need to move your mouse less to react to the movement of an enemy than when you are standing right around the corner.

   As you can see, the player at the red position would need to move his head a lot more than the one at the green position.
10. If you have a skilled enemy, don't always follow the same path. He will soon figure out you are always going the same way, camp there and kill you.
11. If you have the bomb as terrorist and you are close to a bomb site, plant it! It will only require 3 seconds but it will put a lot of pressure on the enemies and make them predictable because they will try to defuse.
12. Do not assume a player running straight towards you is on your side. Unless you are absolutely sure he is a team mate, act like he is an enemy.
13. Never rely on your team. Always make sure no enemy is attempting to attack you from behind. "Your team mates are enemies you can not kill!"
14. If you want to win and don't care too much about kills, you can try going for the actual goal.

• Terrorist: Especially in DE this works well because you can plant the bomb and then kill all the counterterrorists trying to defuse. In HR it is complicated as a terrorist because there are 2 hostages and you can only cover one.
• Counterterrorist: In DE, if you kill the terrorist carrying the bomb or you see it on the ground, you can stay close to it and make sure no terrorists pick it up. If the time is up, your team will win if the terrorists didn't manage to plant and blow up the bomb. You can also save a hostage in HR, but I suggest not to because everyone will know you are trying to get to your team spawn as soon as you untie a hostage. The nametag of the hostage will also give out your location and the hostage often gets stuck.

EQUIPMENT

1. If you just want as many kills as possible, only use Desert Eagle and AK47/M4A4. They are all OSHS-Guns and the rifles have the advantage of a decent magazine and a high firerate.
2. Other good guns are MP7, AWP and AUG.
3. Many players believe the Negev and the P90 are good, but thats wrong in my opinion. Both guns shoot very fast, but the bullets spread way too much and you stand no chance against a OSHS-Gun.
4. Grenades don't work unless you are really close, but many players don't know that. If they are camping in a corner, throw a grenade at them and they might get scared and run out. Then you can easily kill them.
5. A molotov is great to block a passage temporarily, because most players are way to afraid of it. If necessary or advantageous you can still run through a molotov without loosing much health, many players don't expect someone running through a molotov to attack them. It can also be used to get campers out of their camping spot.
6. Many players call the smoke grenade 'lag bomb', but I can't really judge this because they honestly don't make me lag. However, the particles are also useful. They often distract and confuse players, allowing you to get closer to them without them noticing you.
7. Finally, the Flashbang. Can be very useful, but don't rely too much on it, often it doesn't work and the enemy isn't blinded. If you get hit by a flashbang, get to some cover fast. Stay close to a wall, because you are able to see nametags if you are looking through a wall even if you are blinded.

Throwing molotovs at your teams spawn is considered abusing a bug. Do not do that.
