    After some patient experimenting with my brother on an empty server , I discovered that you could sidestep a bullet from a sniper at 15 blocks range. In real life bullets travel faster than sound and it would be nice if we could have all guns or at least sniper and machine guns with much faster bullet speeds.

    I must be honest with you, this is a good idea however I'm not sure how possible it is to increase the physics of a thrown snowball :/

    I have had the guns plugin on my server and you can set bullet speed in each guns config.
    Plugin is called pvpgunsplus++ but it is no longer on bukkit.

    PvpGunPlus is the plugin this server is using, it is also coded by Orange451. So making the bullets faster wouldn't be any problem. The question is if it's neccesary.

    This is an idea but sidestepping a sniper bullet is not on most players minds when gaming.

    It is possible, although if guns like the iso had an unsidesteppable bullet speed, then it would be officially the best gun in the game. It adds more skill if you have to lead your shots, and instant kill snipers need all the skill gap they can get.

    I have no problem with this, but I see what you're saying. You just have to lead your shots perfectly, or finger out those stupid jumpy-guys.

    In my opinion, snipers' bullet speed is fast enough already :V

    I am just stating that the ray gun fires an instant beam, bullet, laser what ever you call it, which this tread is all about.

    True, but sidestepping bullets at 15 blocks range? That might be a problem. I think that sidestepping when being shot from that close means the bullets are too slow, but at the same time if the bullets got faster from a farther distance, it would be an unnecessary change.

    If the sniper bullets went faster... *shudders*
    Anyways, to counter that, snipers could be a one shot per click style gun. In other words, you can't hold the shoot button now. There would be longer delays, and it could work with this idea of increasing bullet speed. Still....
