Hello Everyone! Viva here again, with another Hardcore Games guide.

Assuming that you've mastered the basics of how the game works and at least have a general understanding of what's going on, I'm going to be going over towers.

    I'm going to be covering:
    • Towering strategies in general
    Towering:
Oh towers, everyone's favorite in HG. If you've played at least a little bit of HG you've likely seen one of these. For those who don't know towering is when you or a group of players pillar up into the sky and attempt to knock or kill players off who try and come up or under your tower. Obviously it's more advanced than this but towering as any kit is a good last resort.

Here's an example of a tower you might see:

Always be cautious when approaching towers as I can guarantee that almost all of them will have a Stomper!

Stomper is a nifty kit which allows you to always take max 2 hearts of fall damage. However, the real beauty of it is if you land on another player any fall damage you would've taken is transfered onto that player, meaning you can insta-kill players. But, if the player you land on is crouching or "shifting" they will only take max 2 hearts.

This means that you should always be shifting whenever you aren't directly watching the tower for people jumping on top of you.

Another kit that's critical to most towers is Endermage. Endermage allows you to teleport anyone above you or below you to the spot you place a portal. Stompers can jump off their tower freely and the Mage can keep teleporting so long as they keep running under. A good way to tell if a tower has an endermage is to look for endstone. Endstone is left behind after a player is teleported by a Mage and is a good indicator.

Some great supporting kits for towers are:
    • Endermage: Can freely teleport players back up into the tower if they fall off and can also help players safely get down.
    • Stomper: Main killer in towers. Can jump down off of tower and kill people they land on who aren't crouching
    • Cultivator: Can instantly grow food and trees to help feed and build the tower
    • Glider: Players can ride on top of the glider, allowing people such as the Stomper cover massive distances such as over to other towers/feasts
    • Worm/Lumberjack: Both are really good for collecting materials to build the tower with, with worm also being anti-fall damage
Almost all of these kits alone can make a successful tower, in one way or another. Some other examples of towers you might see are:

Endermage: Endermages can create small boxes which only allow the mage to hit player's feet. The endermage can teleport unsuspecting players into this box and trap them in. To survive at this point, you must break the box itself or kill the Endermage. This type of trap-tower is easily counterable as you can either come from the side or come prepared with axes and pickaxes. It's also really easy to see this trap, so you can prepare.

Switcher: Switcher starts off with 10 snowballs and whenever a switcher hits someone they switch places with them. Switchers often crouch off the edge of towers and catch unsuspecting players by surprise by switching them off of the tower to their doom. Be sure to watch people you suspect of being switcher carefull and make sure to dodge or block their shots.

Archer: Archer starts off with a punch 2 bow and can shoot people off to their death if they aren't careful and block themselves in, If they hit a player they get their arrow back, so try and make them waste all their arrows on misses.

    And many more...

    Anti-tower measures:
So you've come across a tower (with likely more than one person in it), what do you do now?

Thor: If towers ever become a big issue for you, I can not express the importance of Thor. Thor allows you to call down lighting, and yes, this means you can do it on towers aswell. If you strike lighting on towers, it spawns netherack, and if you lighting that again, it explodes, killing lots of people.

Placing water: If you have a bucket, take the time to place water all around the base of the tower, that way, if you fall off, you'll land safely in the water. It's also a good idea to carry water with you when you go to fight the tower as you may need to
    MLG Water:

Towering up safely: In order to make sure you can get up to a tower (and you aren't anti-falldamage), you'll need to tower up safely. One of the best ways to tower up safely is to build walls around each side of you and slowly raise these up as you go:[IMG]
Keep repeating this until you reach the top of the tower, and make sure you build walls around yourself so you don't fall off as you try and kill them!

Hope you enjoyed this quick little guide!

Levitator/Stomper/Endermage best tower IMO. Stomper and Endermage for obvious reasons. Levitator to knock down towering players, and to boost the stomper extremely far.
