Hacker Report Channel

No offense but I don't see the point of writing this whole thing.... Just report @ report.brawl.com

 

Do you know how time consuming it is to record (get enough evidence), edit, render and upload (sacrificing your Internet) just for 1 hacker to be banned? It's super efficient, especially during peak times (when most hackers are on). Trust us McPvPers, we probably know hacks better than most networks.

He was just explaining how slack and the HRC worked. Btw today when I was playing on kitpvp, I found 3 hackers. Plenty of staff were online, but none responded or they were in different game modes. None of those 3 hackers got banned because I couldn't get significant evidence by recording (damn you particles!). Having a HRC would make us player's lives better.

 

Only issue is that mods are not allowed to ban cheaters on the spot unless we have significant evidence. The only people that could follow this protocol are SMODs and we simply do not have enough to compensate for how many people that are online.

If this idea is too impossible for brawl to work with (ive heard they're more TS heavy than Skype), why not have normal mods ban hackers after recording them? I can record but the upload time is almost impossible to get through unless I let the upload go through the night hoping it's sufficient enough, but if a mod were to do it they can swiftly ban them once they get enough information and then upload the video to show to any higher ups. That was akin go how the trial moderators back in mcpvp operated, at least.

 

On mcpvp all TrialMods had to have recording software on the go before they banned anyone in case said person appeals the ban so whoever did ban appeals could go back watch the short clip(s) to see if said person was falsely banned and i feel that system worked amaing. Also I do recommend having all your mods/admins or whatnot join the old mcpvp slack/make a new one. The system was amazing and super efficient name/server/hack they were using mod checks then out if the mod doesn't get there in time said reporter could have video evidence ready for upload. WinWin system 100%

 

@KarmaLord_ What are you supposed to do if you can't record? Not everyone has an expensive computer that can record with enough FPS to produce evidence. At a certain point, evidence cannot be admissible because of lag. Not to mention, with low FPS, it can be hard to move around and ifght to gather evidence.

@Mario The point of an HRC is so moderators can get on to the server to see the hacker and ban them

 

This system always worked well at McPVP. You see a hacker ingame? Mod gets alerted, hops on, and bans them saving your game.

Another thing people can do with the HRC is post videos, which is also really convenient.

Logging hacker reports, whether they were correct or not is good aswell with this method.

 

Like Mario said, Moderators on Brawl do not have the power to ban permanently, and before you ask, we do not plan on giving them the power. So all they can do is record and report, just like you.
Using the report system instead of making staff members ban them on the spot is also more organized because if the banned player makes a appeal you usually have a video to show them and we can easily find the reports submitted on the report system.

 

Ehhhmm... If you really don't want to record the hacker yourself, then you could just hop on TS and PM a mod. There isn't any reason to set up a seperate TS channel, and have our Mods sitting in it doing nothing except waiting for someone to contact them. And besides, only SMODS and admins can ban on the spot. Normal Mods can't do anything more about the hackers than you can. And if you abseloutley 100% don't want to go trough the hassle of reporting a hacker, then so be it. Just ignore the hacker.

 

HRC was an extremely valuable resource that I agree should be brought over to brawl

This. ALL Mods should be able to ban on the spot, while recording them. This way you can save the player's experience aswell as the would or would not be hacker, should it be false.
