On the MCPvP forums we used to have a technology section which was used for questions about PC advise, internet problems and all kind of stuff. I'm posting this here because this is the only way I can contact mah man @OtakuLacota and maybe others will be able to help out aswell.

I'm about to buy a new laptop and I've searched a while for a laptop under €1000 which is still able to run games (mainly CS:GO and Minecraft) smoothly and gives an overall good performance. I came across the Acer Aspire Nitros who seem to be sooo good. Could someone tell me what their opinion on the Acer Aspire VN7-591G-56DE is?

    Link:
    http://www.acer.nl/ac/nl/NL/content/model/NX.MQLEH.004
(Make sure you watch this one and not the other models.)

EDIT: Link might be routing to the website in my laguage. In that case, just type it in google and it will be (one of) the first link(s).

    Specs:
    Price:
    €900 (in Belgium)
    Display: 15,6" Full HD (1920 x 1080) 16:9 IPS
    OS: Windows 8.1
    Processor: Intel Core i5-4210H Dual-core 2,90 GHz
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M with 2 GB Dedicated Memory
    RAM: 8GB
    Storage: 1TB HDD, 8GB SSD

    Questions:
    - Average FPS for CS:GO and Minecraft (Recording and not recording) ?
    - Will windows be installed on the 8GB SSD? If not, what is it for?
    - If recording is possible, will I be able to use shadowplay (it's a nvidia card) ?

Thanks in advance (and sorry if this isn't the type of posts people normally post here),
    Alex

This question should be put in off-topic. Post it there next time you have such a question.

According to the manufacters, the computer can run most games with virtually no lag, on high quality settings.
    So we got that.

It also IS for windows, so it is safe there is well.

Recording can be done, most likely.

I'd say this computer is pretty good. I may be kinda wrong (I have not that much knowledge over computers :V ), but overall: It performs pretty good, and can play many very games without frame rate issues.

    Hmm.
I'd go with a desktop instead as you can change/upgrade parts yourself and laptops won't really last that long. (Maybe 2-4 years).

    @Romke_McScumbag Thanks for the info!

@Lord_Roke Oops, I'll be sure to post there next time!

@Gudgus I have to continually move so a desktop isn't an option at the moment.

Specs look like my old laptop, and that thing ran everything pretty well but died fast, as stated before i'd suggest a desktop, but since you're on the move a lot, not sure, they're not exactly difficult to move around, but that's just me.

The only issue I really see with it is the fact of how slim it is and I'm worried about the CPU overheating, which would be a pain in the arsenal for both your lap and your performance. However, not sure how it'll manage seeing as I don't have one to crack open.

I'd say go for it, regarding your games, you'll run them pretty well from what I know, I mean it's not a god pc but it'll work.

    Simply no option :/

I've never really seen someone with their desktop on a train, let alone work on it.

It has extra fans (check the link in OP) and I've been told they are working decent.

    Thanks for the info!

I mainly play Minecraft and CS:GO which doesn't fully use each core so it's definately not a problem for these. I might play GTA aswell but I don't think it'll suffer too much.

Yep I know it's not the best, but it definately scores good in the price/performance category.

    Thanks for the info!

BTW: Any idea if this laptop will run MC and CS:GO on 60fps or even 120fps?

The graphics card is nice, I have an older version and it works great.

You should login and play and see what the frames per second are when you do.
