Frankly, the amount of spam mod apps is awful, so these 3 regulations should be put inro place:

    1) a different account on the same ip as an applicant is not allowed to comment on that app ( anti-alts)

    2) Once an ip has posted a mod app, it cannot post another for 2 weeks.

    3) The "staff applications" forum will only be open to a user until 1 month after account creation, meaning only people who want to contribute will stay on the forums.

If this is possible with Xenforo, this may stem the flow of spam staff applications which have gained such noriety.

You may be aware that I made a 'Staff Applications : Rules & Regulations' guide a few weeks back for the old moderator application template. However due to the change in layout I had to remove that, and will be renewing it very soon in great detail.

This isn't just a code of conduct: what I'm suggesting is an actual restriction, which renders the 'post new thread' button unclickable till say, a month after your first app.

I have an idea, any forums member that has made an account on the forums will not be able to make an application until a month after they have created the forums account.

It is not so much to read before applying, it will be a reference for people to link applicants to if they are in breach of one of the rules.

That is a really good idea. I want to see Mitchell implement this.

Agreed, this would help a lot in ending those bad or spam applications. No one ever liked those anyways,....

I think this is a good idea, people writing "Amazing App", using a different account is unfair.

Sounds to me like you're saying that its a "Terms and Agreements" page where people don't read and instantly click "Yes I agree". :stuck_out_tongue:

I really think this should clear out a lot of spam posts. This is a very good idea!

    1. This seems like a good idea, but there are easy ways to bypass this.
    2. Good, helps spam, but once again easy to bypass (Although most noobs who spam apps probably don't know it)
    3. Yes. This is excellent. I support.

Well they are actually hilarious sometimes but I agree this should stop. I was also thinking maybe New Members cant access the staff application section altogether because most of them don't even know what they're talking about and are just +1ing because they are biassed towards the person who made the application.

While some are hilarious, it bothers me that people think they are eligible when they are so obviously inadequate. In some cases it is entertaining to watch people try, but it's a thorn in my side when I see people being that stupid.

This is an excellent idea Sir_Blockalots. This would definitely reduce the amount of Moderator spam posts. This is better than the "You have to have at least 50 posts to make a Moderator Application" idea, because this would cause users to spam the forums, simply to get enough posts to make the Moderator application. This forces them to remain active on the forums, and stay active for at least a month before being able to apply. The IP suggestions could be bypassed, but as Cbsusd said, most noobs would not know how to do this. Keep making suggestions like this, for this is possibly my favorite thread yet. Keep up the good work
