Hello everyone. A few of you who replied to my first thread will know that I have mentioned this idea before. Now I am making it official so to speak. I believe it would be a good idea to create a section of the forums dedicated solely to introductions. Now, you might be asking why would we need this about now, but wait and I will explain. I don't know if it was just me, but when I wanted to join the forums, it seemed slightly foreboding (for lack of a better word). This would definitely make the forums seem friendlier to all the newbies out there. Another reason is this. Everyone who has been on the forums for a while know about all of the terrible moderator applications. I believe that an intro section will reduce the amount of new members that :
It will also provide a chance to educate new members of how the forums work. I am immensely grateful to terdd and the others who did their best to help me when I posted my first thread. I hope this gets implemented because of the help it provided me with, and the help it will provide to others. Thank you for reading. You can vote if you like.

This is quite a good idea. This could also be implemented to the servers, somehow. You wouldn't believe how many people ask "How do I join a game?"

I feel honored that I have the main quote. Anyways, I like this. I am tired of these horrid applications that scar me for life. People need to know how these forums work and what it takes to be a moderator on this server.

And your welcome for your gratefulness.

I think it is a good idea, I don't know whether or not it would be that useful.

Oh yes. It'd be useful indeed. It could reduce the amount of spammers, rule breakers, new members making mod apps etc.

Wouldn't it just be easier to implement some sort of tool that won't let new members start threads in certain sections of the forums?

    Great idea but sad fact

60% of the people registerd here give jack **** about the forums. Only here for mod apps. Get denied, leave. They will straight out ignore this introductions thing just to make a mod app.

So, since new members read a thread, it's gonna stop someone from making 8 mod applications? Hmm, whats wrong here? People dont follow rules and, if you're like me, this seems like another "Terms and agreements" box to me.

This would fit more with teaching people how to use the forums.
I could see this in-game though...

Then they go and make a Moderator Application with all of two posts, and claim to be 'active.' Have not seen a decent Moderator Application in a while.
Very true. Most members would see it, disregard it, then got to the applications section to simply be denied. It turkey is sad, because not only does this show that they are not here to help people, but this also means that they are not worthy of the Moderator position.

All of these posts pretty much sum up the issue.
