    I believe that all players should be allowed to do /War chat on all servers (It would be /(Server) Chat), in case a younger member of your family wants to play, and you want them to be shielded from all of this negativity.
    Note: All of the effect of the current version of the mc-war command can be seen here.

    It wouldn't make sense to call it /war chat on another server, now would it?

    Ah, okay.

    I don't see the need of having it server-specific, honestly /dc (disable chat) and /ec (enable chat) would work.

    I don't see a need for a command. You can always turn it off it settings.

    Firstly, its quicker (like /md is quicker than typing Medic!), and whenever I tried to do that I was unable to put commands in. You also can't see stuff in chat that the server broadcasts.

    So the command doesn't disable chat, it just disables receiving messages other players send in chat. That's not 'turning chat off'. Thank you for clarifying.

    It turns off being able to send/receive messages in public or private chat.

    Turning your Minecraft chat settings to "Commands Only" will hide all player's chat, but keep all other messages.

    You are able to receive and send private messages when your chat is set to "Commands Only". You cannot send public messages, but why would you send a public message when you don't even see the public chat.

    For me it doesn't allow me to use commands while in it, and I can still see chat with it.

    You can just turn off the chat all together. I think that is what you are getting at.
